project ps13! here we go again...

i cant seem to stick to one car for very long lol...
anyways, when this came up, i just had to have it
and the legacy sold yesterday too so all good

    spec as bought:
    1993 PS13 n/a sr20de manual
    coilovers (maybe jic, not sure!)
    poly bushed subframe
    pipercross induction kit
    exhaust (HUGE) dunno make yet
    1.5way
    AVS model 6 wheels
horrible pedal set (cant wait to bin...)

lots of plans for this, including either an engine conversion to ca18det or run throttle bodies lol.
generally atm im just tidying up the whole interior with paint, newer model seats, new radio, alarm etc..
wanna change the wheels soon too as it needs tyres and im already not a fan of the wheels.
and wanna do some servicing work like oil+filter, clutch fluid needs doing, plugs and brake pads.

first thing is im working my way back to front on the inside, overhauling everything as i move along.
paint, remove any rust specs, check wires and plugs etc, remove the stink... (car was laid up for years)

anyways, rejoice with me ppl! PS13 FOR LIFE YO.

Good base car there, ITB's on the DE would be my vote

ITBs on a DE would be a total waste of money.

really nice looking solid base there, looks lovely in white
wheels indeed do look like advan/yoko avs, I think the pedals are Razo and possibly a bit too 90's 2f2f stylee
itb's would sound awesome, but a ca18det would yield many more powerz ,itb's would at best gain 10>20 hp on a near stock engine imo
would give it lots of mid range grunt and responce, could bump up the compression and add some lumpy cams?
but a CA swap would be cheaper I think unless you stumbled on the parts for the SR super cheap's
and I 'm not a fan of the SR tbh at all,but I strangely like the itb's idea

Very nice and it's pretty awesome to hear that you may be fitting a ca18det as part of the conversion rather than an sr or rb etc!

    Thanks guys
Yeah I love my ca18det, always have. Had 2 so far and all if them have been the best cars I've had. I'm not a fan of Sr at all so I think actually after sleeping on it a few night now I'm defo gonna go ca18det instead of the itb idea. Yes rb20 would be epic but expensive and common lol.

It's gone to get the alarm today. So when it comes back I'll see can I finish painting the interior, dye carpet black and fit newer seats, maybe s14 if I can get them and take those pedals off, clean the dash properly between the cracks and get rid of the musky smell.

Got the car back from alarms
very happy with the work and all safe now.

    Also got some servicing parts.
Started today with plugs. Never seen such bad plugs before ha...

Have oil and filter to go in, need to bleed clutch and brake pads and diff and box oils and coolant and we're good to go so still a bit of a list to work down but all good minor stuff i like doing. gonna do body work next year and just get her mechanically 110% for now.

gave the wiper blade arms and plastic trims a going over.
i hate those aluminium look wiper arms! HATE THEM.
they look like new now, with new blades fitted too

Doing loads of small bits atm. Need to get way more pics for ye!

Got the center console done and now has a JVC double DIN. Fitted LED lights inside,
flushed the coolant which was really bad! And found that the rad cap was busted. Got a new
    rad cap and new coolant/antifreeze.

Fixed the small hinge in the center console arm rest compartment thing.
That was broken and really annoying. Hinge from B&Q and its better than the original ha.

Wanted to change the oil but the filter is STUCK. and when i say stuck I mean its welded on lol.
So gotta bring it to a garage and hope they can get it off with different tools. And also have a flat
tyre AGAIN.... (i swear, i didnt even do burnouts!)

Also, got the carpet dye today so out comes the interior soon for major clean, spray the rest of the back
black and dye the carpet black.

So, did some work between the rain showers and me having a flu...
I always love a stripped back and painted gloss black. so did the same again with this car.
Came out A1 and glad to report no rust was to be seen anywhere there very happy with that!

So stripped, cleaned and painted the rear section gloss black.

took out the carpet and dyed that black.

And while I was doing that, I got my hand on some MINT s15 seats and rails
    LOVE THEM!!!

Then i got sick of the zebra center console and sacrificed one of my mangas to make it into something super cool and jdm retro.
    bit of PVA glue and a torn up manga later;

Interior is now all done bar a black nismo gear knob, steering wheel and boss
Next up is oil change and fix the broken headlight brackets.

Nice car bud. Shame your not going throttle bodies, i know the det conversion will be cheaper and yield more power but i love the idea of putting bodies on the original engine purely because it's different. Never the less Im looking forward to seeing where this goes. 😉

Engine wise I've gone away from the throttle body idea anyways. It's just very little power for a lot of money... I'd rather a ca18 conversion thats the cheapest to do and yields super good gains for the money. Plus lots of cheap parts.andy favourite engine anyways

Nice work on the interior, I've considered dying all mine black like my S15 was inside. Grey does look a bit dated now. Hmmm!

If you still didn't get the oil filter off, drive a big old screwdriver through it close to the seal end until it pokes out the opposite side and that will give you loads of leverage to turn it off.

agreed the filter will rip open more likely, better idea imo would be fit a large jubilee clip on the filter
and hit the screw drive part of the clip with a bar and hammer, if you have 2/3 spare jubiee clips fit them in a line/stacked

And good to see progress ,interior bits and seats looks nice and for power per £ the CA route has to be best option
