S14 no boost

Hi all,

My was driving his car last night and all of a sudden lost boost. We've checked all boost pipes etc and they're all tight, there's a slight whistle from the intercooler area but we checked with a smoke tested and there where no leaks? The car is fairly standard but also has a forge waste gate could this be at fault? Stuck open? As we can here to turbo spinning? Any response appreciated cheers.

Have you checked the actuator arm is still connected? This will cause the wastegate to be permanently open

Guess it doesn't sound like a tractor hence turbo gasket gone?

Does it drive & idle ok except from no boost?

mine did this recently and it turned out that the actuator was shot, is the arm of the actuator loose/movable, as i was told that there should be no movement without loads of force, mine was attached but rattling around all over the show

Yep drives fine just no boost, sounds fine so not a gasket gone

I would look at the above then...pull on the actuator arm and see if it's gone "soft"

Take elbow off and check if parts that closes wastegate is still there, friend just had this problem
