    T25G to T28R

    Hey all,

Currently have a T25G turbo fitted to my Redtop SR and want to fit the bigger T28R .

Do i need to change oil feed line or is it a straight swap over

    cheers

Should be a straight swap might just be worth changing the copper washers on the water feed and return.

Seen alot on here about fitting a restrictor on the oil fees to turbo on the 28r. Would the 25g have the same thing being roller bearing

T25g isnt ball bearing is it! Some t28r's have the restrictor built in but i put a 1mm restrictor banjo bolt in mine to be safe!

T25G is journal not ball bearing. T28R aka GT2560R is the only ball bearing turbo out of the T25/T28 range.
As for the restrictor some (one fitted to an early S15 for example) have the restrictor built into the turbo, but ones bought I.e from Garret don't and will need one as far as I know.

One option is fit it as is, after a hundred miles check your IC pipes, if there is oil in there the SR is putting too much pressure to the turbo and you'll need the restrictor.

Just a heads up, I bought my 1999 s15r as a stock car, it has a restrictor banjo in the block.

Mine has what looks to be a valve/ restrictor where oil line bolts to turbo.
So I should just be able to unbolt my turbo and fit the 28r with tje original water and oil lines??

Id be wary of using that gasket in the pic, better off with genuine nissan, those dimpled ebay jobbies are pretty gash

I went from T25 to GT28R on my CA. IIRC I had to elongate the holes of the return pipe where the 2 bolts go through.

I know you have to on the gt2871r but thought the t28r was ok! Could be wrong though.

gt28r is same as t28r from what ive read on here. GT28RS is different kettle of fish though

Im gonna just buy a braided line with restrictor to be safe as aint worth the risk over a 20quid bit of hose.

CNHSS1 dont worry it just came with the turbo, i only use genuine gaskets on neesans, except for exhaust mani gaskets, they need to be multilayer
