Mikalor hose clamps - Supra or Supra Pro?

First lot of Japspeed hose clamps failed me then the clips they sent me after have broke again.

    The car is running 305bhp.

What clamps should I go for?

If anyone has any better ideas please let me know.

Stainless genuine Jubilees. Mikalor are bling nonsense.

Shouldn't have a problem with genuine jubilee clips, you could use either Mikalor clamp tho it wouldn't matter.

They can do up so tight you'll crush ali boost pipes.

    Use this style of clamp

    not this style of clamp

and either roll or weld a bead on the ends of the pipes to stop them blowing off.

Another vote for Jubilee, all the compressors at work are secured with jubilee at ten times the pressure an sr20 will be running under.

Standard jubilees are fine. The other style can pinch the silicone if the sizing isnt spot on.

As said jubilee clips work fine, been used for years on machines running pressured much higher than an sr20 will ever run. Just make sure you have a lip on the end of the pipe or nothing will hold it

genuine mikalor clamps are much more powerful than jubilee clips.

That said, I have never had much of an issue with cheap mikalor style clamps either - had a couple fail, out of many dozens - nearly ALWAYS down to overtightening.

stripped many a thousand jubilees especially when reused, never had a problem with a mikalor ,even the cheap copy mikalor's
never broke one as they clamp so hard, I think the op is trying to cure a boost leak due to badly sized joiner and pipe
and has possibly crushed the pipe if the clamp broke
A lot of commercial vehicles use the mikalor style clamps for reliability/no off road down time and have done for years
of course half assed that will do company's like Peugeot/Iveco still use the cheaper clips, that have to be renewed when used once
trust me jubilees strip that tiny 3 grooves of thread contact easy

T-bolt clamps are much stronger/more clamping pressure but have a small operating range so you need to buy the right size, screw clamps have a wider operating range but less clamping pressure, you also need screw clamps with a smooth inner clamping face, big problem with stainless steel screw clamps is the screw binds and hinders proper tightening so they need lubricating off the hose

You want these hoses for the boost path.... Constant tension clamps..
    http://www.sfsperformance.co.uk/hose_clamps.asp

T-bolt mikalor clamps are for exhaust systems...

Jubilee clamps are for water, fuel lines.

Mikalor hose clamps - Supra or Supra Pro?

I've got a data sheet for hi grip worm drive clips at work which shows they can be used on much higher pressure than any boost pressures used in our line of tuning. I've been through all this shit not long back. The crux of it is that from my view, my company have over 300 diesel driven compressors/pumps around he world all using hi grip clamps, and no issues. Same goes for my own car over the last tens years. I had to use mikalor clamps on 4 compressors by customer request and around 75% leaked even when sized correctly and even on proper hose tails. By all means keep using them if you're happy to, but in my experience they're shite

    ^^^^^ I'm with not-so-stupid.
EDIT: http://www.jubileeclips.co.uk/advanc...&submit=Search - for instance, 60-80mm Hi Torque Genuine jubilees are rated to hold over 10 bar. The Mikalors in that range are rated to 15-20. So either is fine really TBH. EDIT AGain althought the super Mikalors are rated around 28 bar. bugger me.

OTOH, real heroes use Wigginseseses. (and not because nothing hold tight like a pair of sideburns...)

I use Autosiliconehoses own brand of hose clamps in the stainless option, they are very good with an extra deep flat head slot to get them nice and tight, haven't stripped one so far

Murray Clamps, apparently the only clamp to apply even pressure around the circumference of the clamp..or the certainly used to be the only one, all others tend to grip tighter at the top.

All I will say is clamp surface area. Larger the better. And remember silicon hose is a lot softer than air line or compressor hose and tends to creep under narrow screw clamps in my experience.

Those Murray clamps look great with the circumferential ribs.
