    What Tyres to use

Hi I'm planning on getting some new Tyres in the near future, I'm running 18inch wheels on 225/40-18 I want to keep the same size but not sure on what make tyre to go for?

I don't use the car to drift and want it more circuit car focused but mainly street use so want a good grippy all rounder as such and not majorly expensive. I've been looking at yoko prada spec 2 my mate has a set on his 400bhp scooby and they are very grippy so sort of looking at a set of those.
Just want people's opinions really on what's been used before and how you rate them.

Michelin Pilot Sport 3 is what I had in that size on my car that is driven as a daily. Excellent in the wet as well as very good dry grip.

I use continental contisport contact 5, brilliant all round tyre. I used 225/40 18 and 255/35 18. Then replaced the fronts with 225/40 uniroyal rain sports and they are terrible in comparison in the dry.

I wouldn't recommend a track day tyre for mainly road use, I've tried nankang ns2-R and toyo R888s and they are very lacking in the wet!

Goodyear eagle f1 aysemetrics here. Rate them very highly, good dry/wet grip and low road noise

Michelin Pilot Supersport are better in all conditions, if you cant stretch that far then Eagle F1's are excellent value IMO

I've got Yokohama AD08R all round on my Z. They're brilliant on track, fine in the wet although I've not tried to find out what the wet-grip limits are. They're going to be useless in winter though.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 in the rear of mine (275/35/18) and they are absolutely amazing. The grip is a lot better than with the Federal RS-Rs I had before them.

I'd love to go Michelin Pilot Supersports, but they only supply piddly thin widths (215's max I seem to remember) in the UK for my R33 17"s, (when actually on the road) but like Chris & bahis, I've found Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's a good all-round compromise, & pretty sound value. Just make sure they're the non Chinese produced ones, as they're far too hard a compound that may well last for ever, but grip like hair curlers on a baldy heed!

Super sports, got 225/40/18's for £95 from lovetyre.com

Otherwise, pilot sports, eagle f1, conti 5's. I had yoko v105's and didn't like them. My Michelin super sports are so good though.

Eagle F1 asymmetric 2's are £79 on tyreleader.com at the moment which is a complete bargain.
