Just read the next Terminator film (Terminator Genesis) will have Arnie back in his iconic role as the Cyborg.
But is he now too old to do it justice?

I think that with all the special effects and his fitness for his age really will support his role
Arny is the original and the legend Terminator
I reckon he might pull it off but would need some serious "pumping iron"
They and he will spend loads on making sure he fits the role, im sure.
Nope i think he could pull it off.
I dont think it would be the same without him and he is still fit enough to pull it off!

Terminators don't age do they? He might need a substantial facelift to pull it off. What is it with Arnie and Sly? Why can't they pack it in and grow old gracefully? It would be nice to remember them for the awesome films, not looking ridiculous.
Sensibly if you were going to send a killing machine back in time you would make it look like Dot from East Enders.
^^
Exactly - anythings possible in a plot. A decent writer will jemmy the age thing into the story.
Remember the first start of Terminator 2? "They sent two terminators back... one to kill the mum, one to kill him as a lad..." - (roughly)
i'd rather see an older arnie than the alternative which is not arnie, he made those films, bad acting was all part of it

Lets face it, every Terminator film has been shite after T2 so he isn't going to make it any worse. They should bring back Robert Patrick as T1000 too, that would be worth watching.
If Arnold isn't the Terminator then I can't be arsed to watch it. Terminator 3 can indeed do one though.
I don't think he can. The solution is quit doing sequels after sequels of an already ended story, T3 was crap, it was a rewritten T2 script at the point that in salvation (which i liked more) storyline it wasn't even considered. I personally think that every remake and sequel of those movie colossus like terminator, robocop, total recall etc. only diminish the coolness of the original movies.
One of the reasons he said he was bad in T3 was that at the time he was the Governator, so had to balance politics and filming, so everything was really rushed..
I've read rumours that in the new one he will play the human (mad austrian scientist?) that the original terminators were based off, which could explain why he's older.
I've also read that it will fit in with the original T1/T2 storyline, so for scenes like where Arnie comes back into the biker bar (I want your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle) they will digitally insert people into the old clip, or reshoot it from a different angle to give a different perspective on it...
