Terrible news, hope he pulls through
Literally watching a video about closed cockpits for F1 as we speak so after the amount of incidents in the last few years I think this is going to be the next thing
Looks nasty, hope he pulls through and makes a decent recovery.

Sadly it's being reported this morning that he has passed away. RIP Justin
RIP. A great talent and an all round great guy from the sounds of it. He will be missed
Rip. He was quick in the lead up to f1 iirc. Pretty freak accident too by the look of it.

Rip.
What is it that F1 is doing differently to Indycar?
I know we lost Jules Bianchi, and before that Maria Villotta, but since Senna there's been at least half a dozen fatalities in Indycar.
Despite there being some pretty violent crashes in F1 such as Webber flipping over, or Kubica in Canada iirc.
RIP, seemed like a really nice lad.
Speed, and the consequences of hitting concrete walls/catch fencing/cars/debris at those speeds, especially if the cars end up airborne. Just having a quick look, the average speed of the fastest qualifier at this year's Indy 500 was 226 MPH. With zero run-off, pack racing open wheeled cars, when it goes wrong it goes wrong very quickly. They don't even race them at the fastest ovals like Talladega or Daytona.
