iPhone 30 pin plug adapter to attach a Samsung phone

    Hello clever doods :-)

I am nearly ready for the weekender!

I have a small issue though, I would like the stereo to play noise from my phone.

The stereo has an iphone cable. I have a Samsung phone :-(

Can anybody find me a link to an adapter or cable that I might find in stock somewhere so I can have one by thursday or worst case friday please?

My knowledge of iThings is limited, so I am failing with my searchings :-( I'd rather this presumably simple adapter was £5 not £50 also. :-)

    Thanks!

the samDock is not compatible with the Galaxy S6, S5 & Note 4 These customers should see our dockBoss5 adapter.

    dockBoss5 pre iPhone 5 dock
Not compatible with Audi, VW, Nissan, Infiniti, & Mazda systems, as well as some other in-car units

    I wouldn't know a pre iPhone 5 dock if I saw one.

Does the iphone cable allow you to control the iphone from the car stereo?

Question you have to ask though is the Stereo capable of getting music files from the Samsung over it's iPhone interface. The Software may not support dragging files from effectively a USB mass storage device and I doubt we would simply be using USB as a digital connection to a DAC in the stereo.

Be interested to know if it works though

Edit: Looking at the specs of the 30pin dock, it most likely is using the USB / ipod cable to send digital audio to the stereo - I stand corrected

It depends if it needs to. If the car simply acts like an "iPod Speaker" that accepts digital audio from the iOS device, then if the Android device can output digital audio via USB, then in theory it should work

I think the one I have splits it so the phone charges, and audio is squirted at the stereo via a 3.5mm jack - it's not elegant, but I dont care so much as long as it works!

That won't work as the iPhone also outputs Analog Audio through the 30 pin connector - which allows your cable to work. USB only carries Digital Audio. You may as well simply get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm Jack plug to plug the Android device in via headphone socket - thats all that jack plug will be doing

Edit: Or do you mean you have to plug the 3.5mm jack into the iphone?

I have an iphone input plug in the glove box for the mx5 stereo.

I want to plug it into my non-fruit based phone.

    So I need this adapter

The adapter I have should give charge to the phone through micro-usb and also has a 3.5mm jack which I can plug into the headphones socket of my phone, to make the music (or audiobook in case) come out of the stereo.

This is the theory at least, if it fails I'll report back
