A request from the committee .......

OK guys, Ill get straight to the point - we havent sold enough Weekender tickets.

The upshot of this is that its looking like it might cost the club a lot more than we expected it to, potentially to the point that it will make a dent in our finances that will take a while to recover from.

We actually planned and organised this years event so it costs less in real terms than Anglesey or Snetterton did, but the takeup has been much less than at either event - we honestly dont know why as its a top circuit in a great location with what we hoped was a decent card of events as well.

We know that some people have been waiting until payday to get money over for it, and Id ask them to try and get themselves paid up ASAP, but I would also ask everyone to try and think of people outside the club that might be interested in this as well, be a friend, relative or something thats local to Rockingham, we could really do with shifting just a few more to get us into the black on this event.

The booking thread is here: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...Booking-Thread, if even a third of the people already booked got one more person to come we will be fine so get them thinking caps on

I read a few posts where people weren't attending as there wasn't any drifting like you had last year, maybe that's the reason for a low amount of people attending? I personally really wanted to go but i cannot get the time off work to attend

Aye, we did consider that but we only got a handful of drifters last year anyway, and some of those were doing grip as well.

Rockingham just isnt set up for 2 different groups, and we had to take the call that there were not going to be enough drifty boys to justify stopping the grippers for a session at a time. Maybe we can incporate it into next year, but not this time round unfortunately

You looking to incorporate other clubs or something to bump the numbers up??

There are lots of people doing trackdays in MX-5's and RS Clio's, so should get some more people from those groups??

Is this just for the track time, or for camping too? I'll have an ask about.

Anything, tracktime would be ideal but camping would also be good - the more the merrier at the end of the day.

We have advertised this on MX5Nutz and 350Zuk as well but havent had any interest from them either, I honestly dont know why as the track day on the Sunday up there is £99 for 3 hours or £300 for the day, we are asking half of that .........

Dude, Im the chairman and dont own a 200SX, you can bring what you like

Previous years have seen a Nissan Micra, Triumph Dolomite, Fiat Panda (all driven by the same person funnily enough), an ML430 Mercedes, a Jag S type and probably plenty of other stuff Ive drunk to forget about

There are generally more MX5's and BMW's than 200's, get stuck in

I'd love to have but it's weekend of my tenth anniversary - I may have bought a 996 but I'm not that brave

Is it possible to bring more than one friend then? £40 per person for camping isn't it?
