    Bodyshop/Paintshop Prices

    Hi All,

Just wondering what people pay to have parts sprayed?

I've been given a quote of £250+vat per bumper which i think might be a bit expensive?

Any recent experiences would be useful to know about and also any recommendations in the Gatwick area would be great

I paid £250 for two bumpers, a front lip and some spats.

Depends what it needs doing to the bumper. If it's just a quick wet on wet prime then paint, it'll be cheaper than having to do repairs etc

It's ok saying I've been quoted this and that. But you need to state if it's a friend, if it's a big bodyshop, a little one man in a shed place or a mobile type painter. Otherwise these quotes give unrealistic figures!

I get all my paintwork done at the same bodyshop in Mansfield. He doesn't do me mates rates and he does an excellent job. I think he's £150 ish per bumper last time I had it done.

Pay more get a better quality paint job that's about what we charge at work for a full bumper resprayed normally go on around 100-150 per panel depending how big it is and then plus certain amounts for type and amount of damage to each panel

This is what I had done

Pretty sure it wasn't mates rates as I've only met him once before. Was a local performance/spray shop.

I think I'm going to have to try other places, shame as this guy knows his stuff and did a good job with previous bits but I dont want to pay over £500's to have it done.

Paid £1650 cash for a full spray. Legit body shop.

That includes stripping the Matt black off, then the damson.. Then straying white.

3 weeks? Roughly that kind of time scale. - Check my build thread probably better dates there.

    "Auto Car Services" in Eastbourne.

I had a Honda Civic Type-R (EP3) re-sprayed from Milano Pink back to Milano Red, and some spraying on my golf before that. Always does me cash in hand prices and i get "deals" by the looks of it. Cannot complain about my S14 paint job though.

Places that quote high generally dont need the work as they are flat out already but i would be dubious of an overly cheap quote unless i had seen their work. £150-250 per panel is the norm in the South East
