what Temperature gauge to get and where from?

OK all i am after a water temp gauge for the car, where is best to get from and what looks the best? i have the adapter thing in the top rad hose for the sensor to go into so just a case of getting the gauge and fitting.

Any suggestions or people with previous experience with a particular type?

Anyone got one they don't need they would be willing to part company with?

    Ta much

Have u got a link to it pal?? After overheating in traffic a couple of weeks ago I have been paranoid ever since and want something to go along side the dash one!!

BTW the overheating was a leaking rad hose and has been replaced so doesn't overheat anymore, just want it for piece of mind

I can't comment on how good it is, not fitted yet, nor is my engine runnung. But it was cheap, and should see me through a month before i buy my matching one.

    For £7....

It's from China, so bare in mind delivery took 2 weeks for me lol.

What i would say though, is if you have the money for a good brand. Buy a Defi one!

No no not a water temp one, just the general temperature one on the dash. Thus I what one that's a bit more precise etc!!

It's a water temperature gauge on the dash, not a general engine temperature gauge.

I think what the OP wants is specifics.

Actual temperatures not just a needle on a semi-circle.

Yes as above^^^^^^^^^^ dont know if I trust the dash one 100% the half circle just seems a but vague, an actual number would be what I am after, just for piece of mind!!

I can only just afford the car at the moment, I would hate for it to go pop and have to be scrapped or something

I've been putting of buying gauges for ages now, I'm keen on Stack Pro Control but they're not cheap, but I dont think any of the reputable ones are. Cheap ones surely can't be very accurate can they?

Probably not no. But at least I'll get a rough idea on water temps!

Not trying to be a dick, but there's no point in getting a gauge you're expecting to be inaccurate in my opinion.

Exactly this. The OEM is going to be better than some cheap eBay item. Middle of the gauge is about 78 degrees. I think the range is circa 60 - 100.

Wait, wat? Surely you can see the problem here?!

As above. if you want to actually measure something, don't use cheap, innacurate shite. Prosport/AutopGauge/wahtever Alibaba is currently rebranding them as aren't exactly the paragons of reliability or accuracy.
Stack/Autometer/Mocal etc start around 40 quid and will give you reliable, pretty accurate reasons.
You're better off having no gauge than one that gives you false readings IMHO.
