Which pulley is this wobbling (Mazda 6 2.0L Petrol)

    Hello all

Owned a mazda 6 katano 2.0 L for about nine months, 50K on the clock. Started making a strange sound yesterday about a mile from home. Looked at the engine and shocked to see the pulley on the picture wobbling every few seconds. Maybe moving as much as 5mm.

I am not that savvy with mechanics but have worked out (I think) this is the serpentine belt. I can't find a labelled diagram to determine which pulley it is though.

Can someone please advise me on:

    What is it?
How much will it cost to sort out? (roughly)
Am I correct in assuming the only journey I should be making is straight to the garage (about 1/2 mile)

Many thanks in advance, right in the process of moving house and going on Hols in 3 weeks so literally couldn't come at a worse time (as usual!!)

    Thanks

    Jon

I'm not overly familiar with the Mazda engine but that looks to be your water pump pulley
    That won't last much longer,
Garage will probably charge hours labour roughly £40+ vat on average
    And water pump £50-£70 maybe
A few extra quid for some antifreeze

It was the water pump. £97 so not too bad, running like normal again now
