    camshaft thread

hi guys. i need hep with something that i just done yesterday. i was fitting my rocker arm stoppers on my sr20 and as i was putting everything back together, i managed to damage one of the thread on the head. its the top left corner on the inlet side. i was suppose to tighten it about 65nm but since the thread is damged on the head, iv put lock tie on it n hand tighten it and then used the rachet to tighten it as much as I can. i was suppose to put my car on the dyno next week but that's going to be a problem now. do i just have to re thread it or can it hold till the dyno? im not sure what to do. i want to re thread it but i cant right right now and dnt have experience with that yet.
do let me know what i should do. itll be very helpful
    thx

65NM for a cam cap seems excessive to me? I stripped one when i rebuilt my motor ended up taking it back off and having it timeserted. if its tightened up by hand that should be enough as im sure theyre 10NM ish...

yes, iv looked at auto data and its about 15nm but the new rocker arm stopper installing guide paper has said to put abot more up to 55-65 which semms alot to me aswell. the damaged thread is just about 15 and iv put lock tie aswell. will it be ok to put it on the dyno then?

    sweet jesus! 65nm?
That is a hell of a lot.

Putting a steel bolt into an ally head with strip the threads out easily with that kind of torque.

Id advise when doing things like this in the future, consult the nissan manual. What make are the rocker arm stoppers?

Here is a copy of the manual:

    STEP 1:
Tighten bolts ® . @ In that order then
tighten bolts CD - ® in that order.
    ~: 2 N·m (0.2 kg-m, 1.4 ft-Ib)
    STEP 2:
Tighten bolts in the specified order.
    rp;J: 6 N·m (0.6 kg-m, 4.3 ft-Ib)
    STEP 3:
Tighten bolts in the specified order.
    ~: 9.0 - 11.8 N·m
    (0.92 - 1.2 kg-m, 6.7 - 8.7 ft-Ib)

See the pdf manual page EM28 for correct pattern.

Just looked through my hard copy and the online one, has same torque method as the manual.
Can you get a pic of the manual you have with the high torque?
