    Turbos -explained?

    So I'm trying to find out exactly what kind of a turbocharger I have as I've taken out the exhaust manifold and in need of a new one (as the welds have cracked).

    I have reason to believe I got a gt28rs turbo (seems mostly like it compared to google images) and I need to know what kind of "sizr" for the flange I have to go for.
    - I see people ask for like, manifold with "t4/t5" flanges or whatever, and I can't understand how these sizes measures out.

    I'm an industrial mechanic with high usage of fittings, hoses etc etc.
    So we go a lot by 1/8" - 1/4" - 3/8" - 1/2" - 3/4" - 1", and so on.. How does the sizes go on turbo housings? Like how you know what flange size to have?


    Don't laugh to loud, hah, just need to figure this out as I can't seem to "get it" yet ..

    If you have a GT28RS then you have a T2 flange.

    The garret website has drawings of the flanges for each turbo which is handy
