How to remove sticky stuff from plastic light covers without scratching them ?
I have got some of the sealant around the rear lights on the lens covers. I have thought Sticky Stuff Remover might take it off, but don't know if this will not scratch the plastic. Anyone got any advise ?
Thanks,
Dave.

Try a small area which is not so visible just in case. Don't leave it on for too long either.

I've got a feeling the SSRemover will mark the plastic. It seems stupid this gunky sh1t is used round rear lights which have clear plastic covers !

Could you heat the sealant up with a hairdrier and wipe it off with panel wipe or something similar?

I was thinking of polish and have just found some info from the net about using toothpaste ! But not sure this is only for glass rather than plastic.

Panel wipe should take this off without damaging the surface. Don't use paint thinners though as you have a high chance of damaging the plastic!

We use lighter fluid at work to remove the sticky stuff off bottles when we take the labels off, so might be worth a shot...

get to a paint shop and buy 500ml of panel wipe for around a fiver. wont damage paint and has endless uses, even around the house!
