You'd think he'd be joking but he isn't. Happened to me on a number of occasions!

Oh dear sorry guys I think I've stumbled into the corsa owners club again

You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

And if you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem!

Raising up the rear of the bonnet will create a positive pressure zone there and reduce the effectiveness of the airflow through the front end, this can lead to higher engine temperatures as the radiator doesn't work as efficiently.

All I hear is blah blah blah... OP wants to raise the bonnet then that's up to him. He asked how it's achieved not why he should or shouldn't.

In answer to your original question, you need to raise the bonnet hinge with spacers. Kits are available or use nuts and bolts.

    Wot Rd_jon said.

Extra cool air that just cools the bulkhead and not the rad. Unless you have welded a load of fins on the block and head, or put a long thin top mount IC up there, in which case it's cool.

You forgot that he's going to need a 50mm core alloy rad to compensate for loss of cooling.

    Style costs.

I don't have any of that sh!t? Car's running 400bhp+ and is used on track regularly. Never had any cooling issues. I raised mine as the top mounted TD06 was scorching my carbon bonnet and melting my washer jet hose.

Plus, a bulkead adds at least 5bhp
