My mother is looking at swapping her landrover td5 descovery for a freelander 2. I know the original style Freelanders had issues but does anyone know of any issues with the freelander 2 from 2007?

I've not heard much about them. Certainly a lot less issues than a TD5. Should be a bit better on fuel too.
She initially wanted a freelander 1 facelift but trying to talk her out of it due to the driveline issues.
Mpg isn't too much of an issue tbh.

Someone at work still has massive issues with knocking from the drivetrain and no one can seem to work out what it is. From having to drive a landrover everyday id steer clear
I'd also like to steer clear but she has her heart set on one

Yeh. A TD5 does take a lot of patience.
But once all the common issues have been sorted. They are a joy.
She wants a landrover, no justification just that she wants one.

From memory I think it was a facelifted 1. To answer your earlier point Itll be a Chelsea tractor 99% of the time.

We don't seem to have much trouble with the fl2's at work, certainly no where near as bad as the defenders.... but then I would never go near a green oval for personal use again after having 3 disco's
Heard of a few killing diffs, changed a few throttle pedals/throttle bodies. Other than that seem pretty good
