Literally days after getting back to Ireland the turbo cooked herself caused by a blocked oil feed. So it came out and went back to Greece for a rebuild which took forever. It came back and died again due to not being balanced properly during its rebuild, so as a means of apology by the guys in Greece they sent me back a new oil & water cooled turbo.

I then went about changes to the look of the car, and put my own stamp on it. The OEM spoiler had to go as I never like them. So I replaced it with an APR wing with custom side plates and risers. Wheels were next to be change to Rota Grid Drifts 18's on the front and 19's on the rear.

I needed more carbon fiber in my life so the bonnet and mirrors got changed out. As much as I love the look of the mirrors they are a nightmare when it comes to reversing.

During all of that it got some tidying up. The brakes were sorted out as they were not delivering the stopping power you would expect from 8 pots turned out to be the master cylinder. The downpipe was changed as we found sections of 2" welded in it. Some hoses and lines changed as they were not the may west. Exhaust & manifold were heat wrapped also. Then it went for some mapping to be setup for Irish fuel. It made 261bhp on its first run on the Dyno at WCP. After they had finished it made 360bhp but could go no further with out a boost controller. Shortly after the diff started to wine so I had it rebuilt and the plates reversed, it has made a huge difference both to my ears and the amount of tire I was leaving on the road.

With the need for a boost controller that prompted me to start tackling the electrical gremlins it had. I more or less pulled the interior out and rewired everything. Installed additional gauges, boost controller, installed the digidash that came in a box with the car. Managed to get the traction contol working also. The engine bay got some attention also. Earthing issues addressed and sub standard wiring replaced. It is amazing the effect a bad earth has on a car.

Then it went back for some more mapping this time making 420bhp after upgrading the fuel pump to 320ltr pump and adding a adjustable fuel regulator. The engine was being choked. Also the exhaust manifold cracked so that was now on the to do list.

I decided to change out the standard cams and gears, got the new ex manifold and down pipe fabricated everthing wrapped again and back on the rollers. The turbo also got a bigger exhaust housing fitted and it made 541bhp & 450ft/lbs @ 0.8bar. The turbo was maxed out at this point. So in the near future the I'll go for a bigger setup and new clutch. The traction control has no effect anymore either.

Changed the seats for SR3 Recaros on bride rails, they are a tight fit but massive improvement. The standard steering wheel went also and a suede nardi installed.

Did some retail therapy and powder coating recently. A full under seal is required before I get it all back together. All on hold now for a few weeks due to work

Got 2 of these 19" x 10.5j for the back.

Rear subframe, LCA's, antiroll bars & struts and a few other bits powder coated which was badly needed.

Wrapped the exhaust while it was off.

Love this too. Almost 100% my thing, I'd just make the interior more 'daily' & call it mine!

So got some time off work and a chance to make some progress on the car. With the subframe off I took this opportunity to de-rust, paint and underseal the car. I discovered at this point the passenger side sill is gone and needs to be cut out and replaced which is now at the top of the to do list. Once I have the car rolling again she is going under the knife.

New subframe, diff and coilover bushes and adjustable arms installed which should make a massive difference and hopefully have it feel like a new car again.

With the diff down I changed its oil, gasket and painted it.

I also replaced the ball joints and bushes in the lower control arms and replaced the old tension arms with new ones. The anti roll bars also got new bushes and links. Looking forward to seeing the difference in how it feels on the road after this.

Fitted the driftworks quick release steering hub, Its a nice bit of kit but I'm thinking I will probably fit a smaller adaptor between it and the column.

Thats it for another while back to work again....
