Had my new ECU mapped (CA18DET)

Its been quite a long time since I really last posted on here. a lot has changed and the car has had quite a few nice touches done over the last year. I've been lucky enough to get a Link G4+ plug in ECU and had it mapped last week by Walton Smith at NISPRO here is the result

Nice results. I'm at a similar power level on an SR and it's such an awesome useable amount. You on a GT2871R?

Yes GT2871R with a tial v-band exhaust housing converting it to external gate with a turbosmart 38mm wastegate. Hks cast top mount manifold heavily modified to be a v-band outlet.

Good result and nice to see there are still a few out there tuning the CA still.

Do you have a printout for the AFRs ?

I was planning to go Link G4 but I got offered a Apexi PC for a third of the money so I've gone with that for now.

How did you find the tuners felt about the G4 ?

I have I'll post it up later.

Walton supplies fits and maps a lot of link's and rates then very highly. Going link for me meant no need for an afm as it's map and also no separate boost controller as the link controls it all.

Is the CA16DE inlet cam a longer duration than the standard one then?

406hp, 250ft ib at only 3.5k and still nearly 300ft ib at 7.5k, 4k spread out a 1.8. Seriously impressive tbh

Just curious, what's your compression ratio?
    What boost?
    .64 housing?

I'm not entirely sure to be honest as the block was decked and the head had 2 skims while I had it. 1mm oversized wiseco's and a 2mm head gasket so I've got no idea what it all worked out to. I haven't done a compression test in a while as well.

it peak at 1.4 bar and then holds 1.3 bar for the rest of the revs.

The Tial housing is actually .62

Yes, 8° more AND 0.7mm more lift. Post 25 in link below. Bolts straight in.

Cheap mod is an exhaust cam in the inlet but that leads to hassle getting it timed up. For real cheap, put belt on pulley one tooth out and drill / slot holes in stock pulley.
    http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...ust+cam+intake

AFAIK all the belt pulleys are the same 13024-D4201-. The bolt holes and position of the peg in the end of the cam change.

Not sure I'd describe a fully forged engine as minimal mods lol, they were carefully chosen though but things like the turbo setup took time and is a one off.

All worked out very well though

I understood what he meant and agreed with it. The spec sheet reads like you touched everything you needed to and only the things you needed to, to put together a sweet package that has made for a great result. There is no "bling for blings sake" in there.

yeah sorry wasn't being derogatory at all. The rods and forgies are a given in my view, but most go for such a mis-matched, half arsed menu of parts that have no cohesion that you end up with stuffing 3bar down its neck to get that power figure with a power band of approximately 500rpm, that your setup is a testament to flexing the brain rather than the wallet for a great usable engine, very well done Sir!
