    mik*s navan | street ready!

Greetings Everyone, welcome to my Project Thread!

I'm currently two years in the Project, so ill start with a bit of history
Back in end of 2012 i purchased the car at my local Nissan Dealer. Always loved the S-Chassis and i wanted to rebuild a car so this was a good beginning as the Engine had Issuses and "small" spots of rust where visible.

    SpecList
    Engine

    3" HKS Silent Hi-Power Catback
    3" Japspeed Turboknie
    3" Trust Greddy Downpipe

    Suspension

EBC Redstuff Pads on Brembo Discs
    K-Sport Coilovers
Energy Suspension Bushings (Sub-Frame, Differential, Steering, Master Set)
Rota Grid Drift in 18x9.5 with Kumho 235/40/18 Front, 18x10 with Kumho 245/35/18 Back.

    Appearance

Custom centre panel with three gauges
    K-Sport Bucket Seats
Nardi Deep Corn Steering Wheel on Bell-Works Hub
    Nissan Kouki Wing
Nissan Navan Front Bumper, Sideskirts, Spats and Grille
    Nissan Tape Deck Radio
    Red LED's Mod
    Takata 3" Racing Harness

    The Story so far

Right after purchase, sitting neat with some Eibach Springs

    So the teardown began...
.. and rust appeared pretty fast

some say it was a racoon nest

someone obviously have taken a bit on that arch

Summer 2013 out of the Garage, flipped the car over and put it on stands

    Oh fun of rust!

Had a great day putting the engine in, went in without any hassle

cleaned the interior with loads of water and soap, now looking better

Back to the present Yesterday i brought the car to the paint shop, can't wait to get the results. They said about 3-4 Weeks till i get my car back.

Happy to share the last big steps with the forums and hopefully getting my car to JAE (or is there another big sxoc meeting?) next year

In the meantime, i'll be washing the carpets, getting more parts and clean the smaller bits

Dude you have done an awesome job of that! Brought her back from what could have been an early grave in most peoples eyes! You deserve a medal! I will be following your build and hopefully see her in the flesh sometime soon. Is it standard spec at the moment? Any plans? What colour have you gone for?

    thanks dude!
Engine is slightly modded and runs with Tomei Poncams 256°, Tomei Rocker Arm Stopper, Stock Turbo, 60mm Throttle Body, Driftworks Oil/Water Lines, Nistune, Greddy Lightweight Pulley Kit and a Fidanza Flywheel. Exhaust wise i have a HKS Silent Hi-Power combined with Japspeed Knee and Downpipe.

Engine plans are to be around 300-350hp.

Car will be painted in KH3 - Super Black, will have to source coilovers and hopefully a set of Enkei RPF1 in sizes as of 17x8.5 +30 and 17x9.5 +18. Not shure about the +18 in the rear, have to measure when the car is back an have the coilovers fitted

Today i've been at the Paint Shop to see whats going on with my car. Damn that guy's a legend! He sanded the whole car down to see where it wasn't flush.

Applied a nice coat of filler, looking pretty nice. Very happy with his work

Started prepping/modding the last Interior Parts. Modded the Speedo's clock backlight to match the rest of the orange theme. Also bought some new shiny bulbs for the cluster.

If everything works out, i'm getting the chassis back in 2-3 weeks. Can't believe after all these years i can start to put my car back together

    have a nice weekend

MY god its basically a new car! i absolutely love your idea with turning it over and putting a marquee up. defo the only way to really get stuff done periodically if you dont have the luxury of owning a garage at all times haha. the underbody/welding work is a super super job delighted to see more and more cars getting this treatment, preservation and restoration is the only way too keep these cars on the roads for another few decades (hopefully ha). i really like your clocks cant wait to see this painted!

this is VERY promising and should be a very clean car when its done.

all its missing now are Navan skirts and Spats

    Thanks everyone

i absolutely love your idea with turning it over and putting a marquee up
Its so much more comfy to work on the bottom ends. Had huge holes on the rear subframe mounts, some massive fist sized holes in the rear arches.
We turned the car back to its wheels with about 15 guys, damn that was kind of sketchy haha

Can't wait for the stuff to get painted too! Counting days and trying to figure out what i can do in my spare time!

To add more retro feeling to it, i color matchted the original Nissan Tape Deck. Just hoping some people still make mix tapes

all its missing now are Navan skirts and Spats
    *cough*

Lots of hard work going into this, & as has been said, great to have another one saved.

Hope to see it in the flesh over here next year.

Meanwhile while waiting for the car to come back, i'm doing all this dirty work i've kept pushing to the side for a while

First i started to to disassemble the front brakes, cleaned the pistons, removed the dirt and rust aswell

After a couple of paint layers To assemble them back together i need new seals and brake pads.
I've ordered Red EBC Pads, hoping to arrive next week.

    Yes i washed my Gearbox

But just to prep for the layers of paint of course

Polished the Lampcovers, bottom is the old faded one, and top one is already polished
