Impreza ? Last of the old saloons would be in range. 4-seats and bulletproof if not modded.

A 'stang would be a lefthooker. That bother you ?

In other news, I was looking for a Monaro for you, and eBay found some cracking alternative suggestions when looking for an LS engined coupe.

Not particularly quick tho, although the sound is pretty cool.
Finding a decent one, for a decent price thats not been thrashed to **** is a massive headache.

Not particularly quick ? Define quick. 0-60 in 5 seconds and 70-100 top gear rollon in about the same is quick in my book.

And the sound isnt very cool in a stock one.

I'm talking about 2006-7 STi saloons, yes ?

You mean the very top of the line models?
Yea I'm sure they are fast enough, there's been so many 'special editions' you're bound to find a quick one eventually, but most of the range is pretty pants IMO.

Either way, there's no getting away from the problem that most Impreza owners are massive ****s.

Stock sti's aren't exactly "slow" either. Hell a couple bolts on and they hold their own pretty well. Agreed image is bad, but it depends if you keep it stockish then your not mixing in with the chav brigade imo.

    ha ha, no.
but I have met quite a few, and they've all been massive tools.

Was looking for a decent Classic last year, looked at several, spoke to many people - so many bellends!!!
Gave up in the end, I'm sure there are some decent owners but they're swamped by all the numptys.

I would imagine far more nobbers own the older ones than nearly new ones.

Lets face it many SX owners are complete tools as well

You can tell a proper scooby nob from just a bit of a scooby nob by the gear they wear. If that bloody blue jacket is on then you might want to consider leaning towards proper nob... if there is a baseball cap then its a dead cert.

That said an sxoc nob is bound to have some driftworks branded item on....

Anyway I'd steer towards Evo8 if I were doing that 4WD rally car thing. That said, I haven't a broad enough chin

8's are newer though and seem to be harder wearing and more robust from a price perspective

Nice 6s (and especially Makinens) are appreciating if they are looked after and fairly unmolested. Not easy to find on general sale but quite few flow through the clubs.

8-10 buys a pretty good one and you'd be unlikely to lose any money on it.

No thanks on all of those Zornyan - I don't fancy a 20 year old money pit

Am definitely swaying towards the Evo though - so that's just a 12 year old money pit instead

Lol just thinking outside the box. Although the supra in Standish form wouldn't be a money pit I imagine? Same as an sbody really. Evos are a good shout, but im terrified of the bills if something goes wrong.

Last time I heard a mates clutch cost him 1500 quid to get fitted as it's a front subframe off job
