    D2 big brake kit

    Merry christmas

Does anybody on here have any experience with d2 brakes? They look very similar to ksports and I've read they are the same but not 100% on this.

I'm tempted by a set for the front of my 14a seeing as driftworks has 10% off everything currently.

Are they worth it or should I stick to ksports?

Thought they were the same as the first gen ksport but that was a few years ago so no idea now really

The beemer boys on the cutters forum rate them.

I've just bought a D2 356 kit, with grooved rather than drilled discs.

K-sport are 8 pot with some odd seal arrangement, not proper seals. D2 (the current model) are 6 pot with proper seals. They also come with pads as standard; k-sport come with no pads; which saves you a few quid and means you can choose what you want, as you night not want the stock pads.

    The fitment was great though.

Not as good as the likes of brembos, ap but a huge improvement on a stock s15

Got pads with the misses one's but they had been fitted just not used so the seller may have put the pads in.

My K sports came with default pads Jezz, and they were actually not half bad
I know the kids used to be the same but I couldn't say for sure now. Mine have been fab.

They (KSport) don't come with pads now, but an option of pads which is on top of the kit price.
You are right I think saying the kits used to be the same, as I said the old D2s were 8 pot, but the new ones are 6 pot with different/better seals.

I got 8 pot ksport 356s with cheapo ksport pads and they are awesome, they seem to get better the hotter they get, bought a set for £440 delivered, they had covered 0 miles were like new, still had the cross hatching on the disks and pads, some imo very good for the £
