    Pretty slow for a 10g connection then as a gig would be able to do 100MB/s.
    10g would be able to do over 1GB/s

    An ISP in the US has just started offering 10Gb/s to residential customers for $400/month.

    Gb = Gigabits
    GB = Gigabytes
    Mb = Megabits
    MB = Megabytes

    10 Gb/s = 125 MB/s

    Speeds are still always quoted in bits, comes from the old days when modems had a "baud rate" (bits/sec).

    Doh, I meant 1 Gb/s = 125 MB/s or 10 Gb/s = 1.250 GB/s = 1,250 MB/s

    Lets not get into whether 1 GB = 1,000 MB or 1,024 MB

    My NAS struggles to do 70MB/s over my gigabit network :/ (Actually, that might be write speed... 100MB/s is read.)
