Would that cause it to throw flames out the stall do you think konrads?

Running lean will cause higher temps and a leaner mixture will be harder for your engine to burn/ignite so yep typically can cause flames.

Worth a look at the pump wiring either way and if it's not hard wired then hard wire it, takes 20 mins to do properly via a relay.

    Commonly done on s-bodys etc.

Id see if you can get it running first. Hardwiring is a good idea but may not be your problem, your car would be constantly popping and banging if it wasnt getting enough fuel i cant see it just suddenly happening!
Have you put the fuse back in and seen if it will fire yet?

I think it's worth checking ignition timing.

Would a dead ignition module stop it sparking?
I tried putting the fuse back in still nothing pointz, timing would suddenly change though? Seems a bit weird

Have you checked for spark? No the timing shouldnt just change unless its jumped a tooth on the cambelt definitely a bit odd!

Can you not check the timing while it's cranking? I just thought it would save pulling the CAS off to look at the teeth.

The reason I suggest checking the CAS is because on one of my S13's, it was pulling great and then one day it started pooping and banging. 30 mins later it cut out and wouldn't start. When I removed the CAS it was very mashed up inside. So I know from experience they can go quickly.
Just sounds like the symptoms you are describing. Plus mine had spark aswell. It was just all over the place.

Timing needs to be checked with a timing light while engine is idling at 850rpm tho.

Just a thought.... unplug the afm and try to start it.... this puts the ecu into full limp mode and if it runs it means boost leak or dead afm...... only thing i can think of that would cause such a drastic change in fueling to cause flames.... plus the same has happened to me on numerous occasions
ps the afm disconect also puts a rev limit of around 2k for engine safety

I'll give it a go mate, the car doesn't start at all though, would a dead afm cause that?

And when I flashed the ecu (counted the lights) it had no fault

The cas had stripped its teeth, thrown a new one on can get it to fire now!

And if you mean you got it to fire i would be inspecting the cam splines for wear and trying to find out why it stripped the splines.
Most likely that the belt cover isnt properly aligned, are the 2 dowels that locate the cover correctly present?
