What a week.
Power Window motor let go again so found a new replacement motor.
Later that week the Speedo started to drop out then finally a brake line let go
This is a result of the line being held in with a cable tie instead of a proper brake clips. Another bodge job from previous owner.
So I had my ozzy MOT and i spent the entire day having hard lines made up and collecting braided lines.
Then a 4pm i found a nail in the tyre. With test at 8am the next day.
I also fitted a heat shield for the pod filter.
I was thinking last night 2 years sbody nd daily driving
I have fixed:
Rev clock
Power windows x 2
Brake disks
Stereo wires and a Arial
Fuel line
Pump
New intercooler
Boost leaks x 12
Maf
Speedo
Suspension adjustment
Exhaust x 2
Turbo + gaskets
Turbo gaskets blew
Oil line leak
New thread for oil line
More boost leaks and a split hose
Lambda sensor
Brake lines
Rocker cover gasket
Steering rack boot x2
Steering rack bushes
Breaker on battery relocation
Not too bad when you think about it

So hows the NSW mot work with the illegal modifications?
The bleed valve, the fmic with and a pod filter as only one air intake mod are allowed and are non compliant, The height adjustable coil overs and a gauge mounted on your dash are also non compliant.
Engineered? Or not a crime till your caught. Would have thought the bleed valve would screw up the emissions test at the very least

I'm in nsw not Victoria.
The fun police haven't come down as hard here.
The only illegal item on the car is the pod filter needs to be in a box.
It's just missing a lid I haven't made yet.
It will all be engineerd when the rb gets dropped in.

Ok new years big order time.
I have so underestimated the timeline and cost at this stage i don't want to do the math.
If an rb25 S14 was the cheaper swap a Rb26 must be a killer.
Here is the product list just to service the motor and get the gearbox on.
It is by no means compete as I need more bits just to run the engine.
So thats my budget spent this month.

Did you decide on what injector size you're going for? What fuel pump, rail & pressure regulator are you running?

Not going to worry about the reg as I need to get it running and all should be happy up to at the initial 14PSI.
Once it is through engineering and all road legal then ill see what needs changing in that area.
So I was going to put the gearbox clutch and box on the motor.
Then I lost my marbles and spent 4 hours sanding the box up with 80 Grit to spray it up tomorrow.
This is a hateful job but you could eat your lunch off it now.
I still think 1000cc injectors are overkill even on E85 for the power you'll ever be hitting. Driven daily & the fact that it's a 6-cyl will mean if you get anywhere near the optimal 80% at full chat on 750cc injectors I'd be shocked.
Take my old SR setup as an example using 1000cc x4 @ 3bar idle fuel pressure & 86% injector duty cycle or less from memory @ 1.8bar on a GT2871R 0.86 on E85: say you were to hit 436bhp (call it 440bhp), @ 80% duty cycle you'll be touching 566cc/min (or less cause it's a 6-cyl if I'm not mistaken..?) so ~710cc injector size. Are you shooting for 550/600+ to need that size injector?

I suspect the fuel pressure is low on the R34s as I found threads maxed out 850s at 320rwkw 429rwhp
Though 400hp will likely kill the head gasket and make me drive like I have Miss Daisy in the back.
Good news.
I'm old and so 8kg /6kg Springs have to go.
This car is a road car and the road conditions in my area mean i actually drive slower and have less feel due to rough roads.
Don't get me wrong the car handles like a go kart but can feel like one two in terms of comfort.
So I hunted down a set of S-Tunes 5kg 4kg which should do the job of making the car more friendly as a daily.
So in the next few weeks I'll swap these in and i'm on a wait list for Gktech anti roll bars which will take out any sloppy roll.
Fair enough. I'm sure once you start pushing over 1.2bar on a decent turbo you'd be getting a MHG anyway, no?
Sure at least with 1000s you won't be running out anytime soon. Will you be running a flex-fuel sensor?
Nice wee list you're accumulating! Have you strut-braces in already & will a front one clear the RB do you think..?

Block next, also that black bracket will be replaced with the s14 one so not worried about overspray.
A 50mm wastegate
Inter-cooler pipe work 60mm
Window tint as needs redoing
Injectors x6 big ones
Waste-gate plumbing/pipe
Turbo lines
[S]Window washer motor Grrrr[/S]
[S]Flywheel re-surface -Done[/S]
[S]Braided Clutch line as its flexible[/S]
[S]3" V-Band Dump pipe [/S]
[S]IAT sensor[/S]
[S]Fan - Pathfinder Diesel Clutch Fan may fit and is cheap[/S]
[S]Lock Washers Nordlock [/S]
[S]Turbo locking tabs[/S]
Wax on wax off on the engine. Plus bought a belt tension tool.
Closed the garage door as neighbors getting too interested.
Ok so I need some pipe, everything else is on order.
I should be able to Mock up the engine this month and tidy up.
Lets see what bits i forgot.
Last of the parts turning up.
Got a second hand dump pipe that needed to be re-welded.
My first flange, looks like Ray Charles welded it but happy out.
It's passable enough ill give the wastegate and EGT bung a go.
Progress Update.
I should really make a list but I don't really want to know.
50mm Gate and 1000cc injectors.
Vband adapters and pipe to plumb the gate and make a fresh Exhaust.
Cross Member got tidied up. Wasn't going to do this but it got out of hand.
Temp Sensor fitted for Clocks.
Changed injector plugs to match the Bosch injectors.
Then spotted there is no serial port wired into the ECU plug to map the ECU
Funk!
Spigot Bush removal. Tried to drill it out but its being difficult....
Dremel or removal tool would have saved me time.
Nice job on the subframe!
Any last bits & pieces or are you pretty much ready to assemble it all??

EGT bung and waste gate Flange. Not very pretty but will work well.
