Well problem seems to be solved for the mo , Coincidentally a package arrived today and after a bit of him attempting router rebooting and asking of wpa keys he admitted to a new playstation , I've turned on wireless station access and forgotten to include the mac address that was causing the problems , His new PS whatever can be isolated whenever I'm online so happy days for me
    Thanks for your thoughts folks

I imagine Chris is paying for it.

I wouldn't be happy if someone was snaffling my bandwidth for free when I needed it.

I think its reasonable to block it while it is getting in the way then unblocking it when I'm done.

To me, its just like allowing the kids to lie full-length across the sofa but only as long as I don't want to sit on it.

Thing is some of these console games can hoover up vast amounts of data and bandwidth for there updates, imho i would assign the units a vlan that was restricted to 384k a second just to be a 'tard.

18Mb/s will give you 1 UHD (4k) grot stream, it will be close to your max but i recon you could indeed get a full quality skin-flick streamed on your connection.

This assumes no one else uses your connection when your watching.
Just think of the detail in the beaver shot.

That's what I'd do as well.

Possibly with a captive portal full of donkey porn

How much bandwidth could a ps3 and a ps4 consume if the ps3 was being played while the ps4 was updating ? How do I assign a vlan on a sky router ? I'm a tard already so keep it simple please

I doubt the Sky router is smart enough for a VLAN

Draytek 2830n off the top of my head, but I'm sure they there are some cheaper ones that will as well.

Possibly something that DD-WRT can add.
