BC ones are good for the money. A LOT stiffer than the stock springs. And ther retainers are a LOT lighter.

Lol, I'll see what santa brings, does look like I'll have to get the wallet out for springs, was eyeing up poncams and BC springs, then I will stop with the upgrades

Just keep in mind that stiffer springs will kill the VCT sprocket MUCH faster. After fitting Tomei Type A springs, mine lasted less than 10k miles before I had to replace it again.
Tomei Poncams and HKS Step 1 don't need upgraded springs as long you don't rise the rev limit. Use the money on rocker arm stoppers instead.

From what I've experienced, it's often when using a aftermarket management ecu with hard cut / ignition cut that makes the rocker arms shatter.

What make springs are 'soft' all I read is so many people having vtc noise not long after aftermarket springs fitted

I've got rocker arm stoppers, Rev limit is mapped to 7000, I will only be getting 256 11.5mm lift cams, which 11.5mm seems to be pushing it on stock springs, just want to know if the stock springs would cope, or is it a case of BC springs and ruin my VTC in the near future over and over as I don't really want to loose it with my low down power/torque

I would go BC, to be honest the VVT can go pop with or without fiddling with the springs.

Right finally have decided on cams! Now I need help on a choice/combo, I'm after best response and more mid range torque/kick:

    Intake:
    248, 11.0mm
    256, 10.5m

    Exhaust:
    248, 11.0mm
    256, 10.5mm
    264, 10.5mm

Please note I will be keeping stock valve springs

270 dur cams to be used with a GT2871. You are joking, right? As he says, he is after low/mid range torque. He won't be getting that with these.
A complete mismatch for that turbo.

    T926_S14A:
I'm taking it you are using your car mostly for street use? If so, Tomei PonCams (256 dur / 11.5mm) will be fine. Also grab a RAS kit while you at it.

A other choice is Greddy Easycams (256 IN / 264 EX and 10.5mm) but these got discontinued a long time ago. Might find some used ones if looking around.

    Also been discontinued.

For 10.5mm lift, Toda would be your best bet I guess --> http://www.rhdjapan.com/toda-racing-...-t-silvia.html

But running 11.5mm with stock springs really arent a problem. A lot of people here in Norway does it, with Tomei Poncams being the top choice.
