Anybody ran a stock manifold with external wastegate. ?
Im looking to run an external wastegate on a stock manifold in order to help with the boost creep experianced on gt2871r's.
Has anybody on here done it before, Ive never ran an external wastegate so was just going to buy a good quality brand rather than mess about to much, in particular the Tial Msv, look to fit the bill being small , and V band fitment meaning i can spin it once fitting to suit best.
Any thoughts on this type of set-up before i begin chopping away at a stock manifold.

yeah ive known a guy do it before with decent results.
main thing would be to make sure the external wastegate take off is at a decent angle

Everything must go
I did it for a while, its hard to get a decent take off angle and theres very little room to run a dump pipe, as mentioned above. I used a 38mm tial WG with a GT3071R but i still got occasional boost creep (would see 1.6 bar, max was set to 1.4).

when you say a take off angle in what way, do you mean its difficult to cut the manifold and weld in the wastgate flange in a nice vertical angle, or more so is there a particualy angle the wastgate should be with the runners ?

the standard manifold is divided like a twin scroll one so you would have to make sure you make the take off point intercept both gas paths so probably near the collector. Just to help get even flow across all 4 runners

Here's mine (got it water cooled too)
Much better boost control and no creep
