    MAF problem

Hey guys, so yesterday I went to change my MAF from a Z32 to a standard one because it was running in limp mode but now it won't start at all it's got me puzzled!!

Has anyone had the same problem ?

    Sam😊

If your mapped for a z32 a stock one will be completely wrong

Check the wiring from maf to ecu! I had this on mine and the power wire was shorting out on the bulk head had to rewrite the power wire!

That response is totally irrelevant to his situation. If the ecu his car has is mapped for z32 a standard maf would clearly no work and will make the car pig rich.

    What management are you running.

It's the complete opposite I had the Z32 on before it was mapped so it wasn't running right so I was putting the standard one back on untill I can get the car mapped and now it doesn't work.

I'll check the wires back to the ECU today.

    Thanks Sam

sorry im not talking about the management im talking about the wires!!! my power wire for my maf had rubbed where it came through the bulk head and was shorting causing my car to run in limp mode (as he has described) doesnt matter what maf he was running it would be the same situation for either if the wires had damage to them! so im thinking it is slightly relevant to his situation as it could be the reason why it went to limp mode and changing back could have cause something else causing the no start situation!

anyway hope you sort it sam as it was the most irritating thing my car has done>

Why the hell did you put a z32 on a standard map.

Racs you are prob correct that it's wiring but in my opinion it's not cause it rubbed through anything. it's to do with the wiring he had done to the maf that has caused this. Either the wires are wrong or you've damaged the ecu by wiring it up incorrect.

But do as Racs says and check for continuity from the ecu to the maf wires. Maybe get somone more competent to do it to ensure it's getting done correctly

this is probably true as mie is an 14 with a 14a maf wired into t and the wiring that had been done to this was siht and he hadnt put gromets etc back around the wires

Yip if you disconnect the maf it will start and run but will be limited to around 3000rpm.

The wiring is incorrect to the maf, ecu is not getting a signal.

Yeah still running in limp mode I'm going to rewire the signal wire to the ECU this weekend.
