Any Audi fibre optic issue wizz's on here?

Basically someone i know, Audi A6 2007, MMI system.

Removed CD changer from glovebox, unplugged and put back together. It has a fibre optic cable from it that was left out, on start up the entire audio system doesn't work, it turns on and shuts down. Any ideas?

Heard from Audi it may need £2000 worth of work anyone know the affect of doing the above? Tried google

I've got an rs6 and I know if I unplug anything with the battery still connected it has a shit fit and decides to either not work or throw a warning light up. I normally just plug vagcom in and reset it and it's fine again.
