The 'Oh I've broken my car 2 weeks before the weekender' Thread

Been waiting for scottie to post this for a week or so, so here it is.

    What have you broken?
    Will you're car make it?

So far as I know that led sandwich aka aaron managed to blow up his sr on a track day at Bedford about 2 weeks ago and it was back on the road with a new engine by last weekend.

With regards to me my s13 won't make it. Funds dictating that I cant afford to tax mot and insure it because I'm off on holiday on the Monday after....

Oh and is anyone just a tad excited yet?

Less than 15 days to go now

I'm excited to get my car back this evening. It's been away for 3 weeks with delay after delay due to parts not arriving, having the wrong bits etc. and I can't wait to try it out with its new subframe, bushes, diff mounts, camber arms, braided lines and Z32 brakes

I've bought myself a GoPro for the weekender too

    I have a bit of a to-do list still...

    Rebuild carbs
Get carbs setup and ignition setup
    Fit vernier pulleys
    Finish wiring
    Fix fuel gauge
Confirm dipstick sizes, then trim mine to size and fit
Do a full fluids and filters change
Put interior / dash back together

I am mostly doomed, but I am going to give it a damned good try!

I have the following list of jobs to do before going:-

    Fit gearbox to engine
    Engine in car
3" turbo back exhaust to custom make
    Remap ECU
Fit rear springs and shocks (fronts done)
Get grippy tyres fitted, don't think the Linglongs will like snetterton
    Fit/make a custom FMIC install
    Make a wiring harness
Fit/adapt a oil cooler to engine
    Fit custom radiator and fan
    Larger brakes
Custom make a rear anti roll bar
    Fit gear shift etc

And if I have time, fit sports seats

    Easy

My gearbox input shaft snapped and I killed another 14a box, 3 in 12 months.
Got z33 box to go on, time is tight and jez@hdev has limited time to fit it.
If the s14a doesn't make it I'll bring the mrs mr2 up, it'll be disappointing on track but still better than nothing

Mine is off having new bodykit and being painted at the moment plus I decided I wanted an engine rebuild as the valve stem seals seem to be going.
However the engine rebuilds not even been started yet
BUT, I bought a spare engine to have rebuilt, so I can still come along with the current engine and then it doesn't really matter if it goes BOOM (it made sense at the time, honest! current engine needs rebuild so buy another engine that needs rebuild and have that rebuilt )
    bovvered?

Killed my diff' on Tuesday after Oulton Park.
Pretty confident I can sort one ok though.

And Bristol Blue has either fudged his alternator or some other weird electrical guff is going on! :S

Having just been on a weekend tour up to the Lecht ski center, then cairn of mounts and more....I was expecting to be posting here about the death of my gearbox/aero/tyres/brakes....but it survived unscathed and performed phenomenally. Gives me a good indication of how fast I can drive with the right car to follow lol.

Now I have gearbox swap (long overdue) and remap this weekend...so may be posting here next Monday too lol
