Michael Schumacher fighting for his life

Suprised no one posted about this (or did on another section), he is currently fighting for his life with serious head trauma after a fall while skiing, currently in a coma in emergency surgery after what looked like only a concussion

I didn't realise it was that serious. When I first heard of the news breaking, he hadn't lost consciousness. Fingers crossed he pulls through.

This is terrible news. Saw an article title about it this morning, but never read into it as I thought it was over exaggerated. Now I've seen the updates http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/formul...ormula-2969745 real shame what is going on, hope he gets very well soon.

Where is everyone getting the info from? As far as I know the media are ramping it up to the max as the resort said the he was "taken to hospital as a precaution but it was nothing serious"......unless his condition has changed and they discovered it was more serious when he got to hospital

Like others, I saw earlier news which suggested he'd bumped his head during a skiiing fall, while wearing a helmet.

Now I'm hoping it's just the news people have gone apeshit for a headline , rather than he's badly hurt.

This has really brought it home to me just how lucky I was. 4 years ago I was airlifted from a car crash unconscious with head injuries, the next day I walked out of hospital with a single stitch in my eyebrow.

And I've been skiing at the same resort (without a helmet).

I'm all for journalists trying to uncover the truth but this is unbelievable.

    Hope he fully recovers.

Speculation, nothing more. And in the Daily Mail, too, who'd have thought it

Michael Schumacher is still in a medically induced coma. Karl Wendlinger was in this situation for weeks in 1994 after a crash in Monaco. As was Hammond after TG crash.

This horrible accident has exposed the "our sources tell us..." type media for what it really is, desperate speculators peddling their opinions as factual "news". The world would be a better place if we all dismissed everything in e.g. the Daily Fail, purveyor of hysterical immigration fear mongering smokescreen whilst the government dismantles the NHS and Welfare state.

Clarkson's Tweet when Shumacher had his accident was something along the lines of “The worrying thing about brain injuries is that you can recover only to find you’re a midget with a marked Birmingham accent when drunk.”

Clarkson said in tweet: “In other words, it’s possible after even a big brain bang to go back to exactly how you were before.”

Possibly a bit ill-timed - but the press were all over him. Seems a bit hypocritical to me

Thing is Shumi would likely appreciate Clarkson's humor.
