    Mini-rebuild Weekend on a fellow member's S13 - July 26 & 27 2014

Ladies & Gentlefish... One of our fellow members that is due to attend the Weekender with us has come to the shocking realisation that his S13 that is currently in many many pieces may not be *ahem* intact... enough for getting on the boat less than a month later in August! Ladies & Gents, say hi to Robby!

To that effect I've volunteered to head down to his place & lend a wee hand to try & piece this car back together including dropping the CA18 back under the bonnet of this good chap's S13. What I'd like to know is, does anyone else fancy lending a hand/leg/few hours/the odd tool/some abuse/tea-making skills/photography/videoing skill etc to the cause?? Remember, it's all so that he doesn't have to push the car onto the boat, off it again, & get a tow-truck across the UK & sit in the car that he pushed into the pits, pretending it'll drive... Please, we really don't want to see a grown man do this...

So, in short, if you have a few hours free, or a morning/afternoon/evening/all-three free on Saturday 26th and/or Sunday 27th of of July (that 2 weeks away now) & you fancy getting your hands dirty, or lending a hand making tea, videoing/taking random snaps, heavy lifting & or possibly doing a last-minute parts-run, please feel free to join us at Robby's place (that's robbys13) near Portarlington from about 11:30am on the Saturday until we're done sometime (let's be honest...) on the Sunday, please let us know & throw your name down on the list! We'd love to see you there!

I've my nephew's christening on the Saturday, but will head down early Sunday for the day. I know my way around an S13 interior/exterior fairly well, and am a level 100 expert at abuse

Lol, I looked into it before and you could get a nice industrial unit with space for 5 cars, and an office/kitchen/bathroom for about €650 per month.

Then everyone lost their jobs and sold their cars lol

For 130 a month I'd probably be up for that, especially if I had a track car and a trailer

In case anyone has any of the following or knows where to get any of the following nice & cheap before or on this weekend, here's a wee list of things it looks like we'll be needing, followed by a list of things we'd like - I'll let Rob fill in any details - all for a CA18DET S13:

    NEED:
    Oil (10W40 Fully Synth?)
    Oil Filter
    Water Pump
    Timing Belt
    Spark Plugs
Coolant (I think he has this sorted - Rob confirm how many Litres you need, I've got 8L there; if you're in a hard water area let me know & I can bring water from a soft water area)

    LIKE: (aesthetics etc)
    5-stud hubs for an S13 (300ZX, R32, R33, S14, S15, etc may fit from what I remember..?)
4-stud wheels (4x114.3?) or else 5-stud wheels if we can get the hubs above ^^^
    JDM Tacho Cluster
    Turbo Timer
S13 Kouki (last model) 180SX Spoiler

So, we've got 4 working days & a working weekend morning to get this lot before the rebuild/engine fit kicks off - any help at all would be really really appreciated!

We actually spent the whole weekend clearing out the garage enough to have space to work. It had been lying idle for a while and was a bit of a tip to be honest.

The good news is that it's now all clean and clear, the car is in, and ready for work to begin.

How's everyone fixed this weekend lads?

As Clint said, the place wasn't really fit for doing the work so we spent most of the time getting it ready for working on - here's where we started & finished:

    The S13 in question...

This was after we'd started tidying/sweeping:

Finished for the night - it doesn't look like much was accomplished but there were 2 S13s in various states of mobility to move amongst a serious amount of parts/tools/trim bits etc, I should've taken a pic before the lot started!

The next day - half a bottle of disinfectant + an entire 4L tub of Domestos + hot water & a lot of sweeping later...

    Le powerhose:

The result: one clean garage free of dog-related smells & an S13 pushed inside just as the skies opened:

I'll let robbys13 take the updates from here!
