Fack me! Was there rust there or just filler??

The sill had 4 small 5p holes so cut the lot out the rear chassis rail had a nasty plate and fibre glass on it
So it's getting the full treatment before paint and build back up

Ok some updates still removing filler and rust but a sand blaster is helping it's a horrible dirty job but I think Kev likes it

We blasted the rear inner arches to find plate on top of plate so bought these
So whole inner arch cut out

After building up the atlas axle and realising I'm going to need wider wheels the project grew more arms and legs so parted with more money and these arrived

All the while Kev continues to blast away
Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we can start to weld bits back on

Yeah we know hence why we never set a time frame it will be worth it though

oh my this has turned into a labour of love since last checked in, like the bubble arches
I liked bubble rears and twin cam fronts (slightly more flared/bubble than mexico's) the bubble fronts looked a bit odd to me
unless you had 10j wide low/- et fronts and super lows
hats off to all involved and looks like it will be a super strong solid shell and well worth the effort
Only a small amount of work done yesterday but a whole day winding Kev up almost to breaking point but he realised I was being an arse
Here's a couple of pics
And one with Kieran and his quiff

Then shit got scary and there will be people that slag us for cutting out Mexico arches but as you can tell by what we are doing no fcuks are given

Love the bubble arches. Can't wait to see this progress.
1998 Nissan 200sx s14a , 2000 std 5 speed with nismo supercoppermix clutch bn6 Sapphire Blue
Progress is slow but at least it's progress
Today we cut out sections of both o/s and n/s rear chassis rail that were rotten as we are not out to restore to original it was replaced with 40x40 box section that will be stronger
Rear panel will be getting replaced can anyone say filler

Plans have changed so the atlas axle will be sold and all the 6 link suspension stuff
We are going with what we know so chassis rails are going to be moved a little to accommodate Nissan subframes so it will be running all 200 running gear
Stuart @ garage SR is sorting me out with the subframes
Anyway riveted a couple of arches on ready for Kev to crack out the welder
Car has been in kev's garage about a year so I got to thank him and Kieran for their patience

good up date mate, and I like the 200 running gear idea should be able to get boosted powers down better
should handle and grip a lot better as well, I know a fully sorted live axle can work well
but everything has its limits as the powers increase towards and over 300,
mate with a cossie turbo mk2 (well over 400) went with bmw m3 sub frame and diff set up with good results
compared to a fully sorted multi linked quaiffe diff set up
so the 200 subframe/diff idea I can see working well, still be a twichy as fcuk bugger with short wheel base and boosted powers
well done to all involved, kev kieran etc the bodywork/welding alone is immense
