    Update
Big piece of the puzzle turned up Saturday originally we was going to use standard 14 tank but that didn’t work out so Kieran had a custom tank fabricated to sit across the back wheels it is internally baffled and has built in swirl pot fits like a glove

We also got the rollcage tacked into place

Very little metalwork to do now and I can crack on with the bodywork

    Escort mk1 SR20 project

Finally the car is sealed back up bit of a milestone
We wasn’t sure how to tie in the new floor we made up and over the diff we the original boot floor

So decided we wouldn’t and made our own boot floor standard for us

Another opportunity to use the bead roller again

    There we go

very small amount of metalwork then I can be let loose on bodywork honestly this time I mean it

good progress ,would be nice to see the old girl on four wheels and right way up,
and whats the plan with how it sits regards ride height, like lowered more than stock with nose down or ar$e end lower ?
or with the 14 running gear it will be closer to stock mk1 ride height

We’ve had it on the ground with the 200 running gear can set it pretty much where we want on the coilovers
I don’t like the slammed or tucked look just a fingerable arch gap is fine oh er

cool ,nice it can adjusted so much you have options, I used to run mk1's/mk2's with it tucking 13's front and rear
that was in the mid eighties long before speed bumps ,look cool as but dragged frame rails/diff case (on cambered/bumpy bit's of road)
when you got in the throttle and the back end dropped, may be something a bit higher will be better these days if it's a road use car as well

I kinda get what you mean I had one over 20 years ago and loved it but they are slow and a pig to drive in standard form this one was bought to put the SR in but the project grew arms and legs and has ended up getting the sx running gear brakes etc etc

The subframes and running gear are still bolted in place so it’s just a matter of spinning back over and bolting wheels on but first we are going to slice the rear bubble arches and space them out to get wider wheels on back

How wide are you going? Keeping a retro design still?

It’s kinda hard to explain but on the rear steel bubble arches they curve out but then go flat down that’s the part we are not keen on we want a continuous curve more like the fronts which will also give us an inch or 2 so can get a better offset wheel

This!! would rather it was a continuous curve for me it looks a bit odd going flat when the fronts don’t
