'buzzing' boost control solenoid on key turn

Recently bought another S14A. It appears to have an unknown make aftermarket boost control solenoid, which seems to make a really weird sound when I first turn the key. It only lasts for a few seconds then stops.

The annoying thing is the IIACV needs a clean (dipped revs and it cuts out constantly) so every time it stalls (a lot) I have to hear it again.

Was just wondering if there is anyone else that's had this before and managed to do something about it?

    Thanks

Not sure about the noise you mean but some 3 port boost solenoids make a sound as they switch between high and low boost. is it connected to an EBC??

Yes, it has a Gizzmo EBC installed. But I don't see why it would need to switch like you said from startup? I'll get a video of it later.

No nor do I but I was thinking it could be something in the starting circuit shorting into the solenoid that causes it to switch between boost settings. Or it could set to a standard when not powered and when its powered at start up it moves to the other setting. More of a guess than anything as i'm not sure how the Gizzmo's work but just a thought.

Is it the same sounds as it makes changing between high and low boost?

I don't think you would be able to hear it over the engine once it's running tbh. I haven't fiddled with the boost at all as it's my daily haha.

This is a "Solenoid Check" that it performs every time it is powered on. If it doesn't see the solenoid or the solenoid is faulty, it will tell you.
