H Dev stage 1a chip questions

Need a bit of info please guys my mate has decided to go standalone and I'm considering buying his old ecu which has a H dev stage 1a chip.

Now firstly is this just a straight swap ecu and job done?

Will I have to adjust anything on my SAFC II?

On there site it says about boost controller that can run 17psi etc etc......thing is do I have to run 17psi I'm currently running 1 bar and happy just want the chip to squeeze that bit more power and avoid running that bit more boost just to keep it on more reliable side

    Cheers kris

I dont think you can swap ecu over due to the immobiliser, but it may depend on what nats you have. Think you would need to swap the chip out.

If you had the chip you would probably ditch the SAFC.

You run any boost you like up to 17.

You can swap it, but it will not start until the nats has been re-synced or you change over the whole immobiliser system, halo ect

S14a has NATS built into the ECU so you would need his transponder and key as well.

You wont need the SAFC2 once you have a chip.

    Sweet cheers guys.

Any idea how much it roughly costs to have nats removed? Or even check to see if its already been removed? Saying that its probably cheaper just to have chip fitted to my ecu lol.

Ah cool prob keep the safc just as a knock detector tbh.

What about the whole boost thing it cool to continue running 14psi

You can run anything upto 17 psi, so 14 is fine.

The SAFC is piggy backed into your ECU so you need to get rid of it or at least clear the map.

Oh yeah will get that sorted out. The guy that does my tuning for me was on about it before when I was going to run nistune and said about just keeping it fitted as a handy knock sensor so will just do that for now until bloody dog stops costing me a fortune and can eventually get nistune lol
