    Stretching a Goodyear Eagle F1 225/40/18 or a 22 onto a 10 wide ? Anyone done this ?

    I'm looking to stretch a Goodyear Eagle F1 225/40/18 onto a 10 wide as I doubt a 225/35/18 would go on .

Has anybody done this or can advise if either of the two profile will stretch on as I am looking to order some tyres .

    cheers

    Finch

I had a 225/40/18 falken stretched onto a 10 insh wide XXR rim and it went on pretty easy, only needed pulling one way then other and popped straight on, no bead blaster or lighter fluid needed!

    225s are fine on 10s

it is all down to personal taste, do you like the stretched tyre look or prefer something more flush or even meaty. A good place to look to see what different sizes look like is tyrestretch.com

It's not really the look , it's more of getting the wheels on with the tyres without scrubbing issues really .

I just thought with a smaller tyre there's less chance

how low are you wanting to run? should be able to get pretty much any tyre on it

the photos above were 18x10 et0 as was running 20mm spacer.

So if you stick to 20ish should be able to get some decent sized rubber under there

Not crazy low , wasn't going to put massive spacers on maybe a 10 or 15mm max , will look at that once I have alloys and some rubber .

I just assumed if i fitted a 255/40/18 tyre I may get issues catching

    With a mildly rolled arch (DIY) I had a 255/35/18 on a 10J ET15 with no problems...

Just nipped down to get some pics, I personally found stretching some of the better tyres with firmer sidewalls an issue... but others have done it. I have Hankook V12's on mine 225/40/18 on 18x10 ET18.... Pics attached with outer clearances.

I'm going up to 255/35/18's after I've visited pro-tuner in a few weeks, so if you haven't fitted any thing by then I'll get some pics and let you know how they fit. I'm expecting to raise the car a little to get them on.

I have 275/35/18 Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 2 tyres on 12" rims. They stretch well and were easy to put on. 225 on 10" should be similar stretch.
