What tyres should i get ? around the 400 bhp mark !

What tyres are people running and happy with grip wise ?

Currently got some Dunlop sport on the back but will be changing alloys and will need tyres so wondering what people are buying

I don't want to spend silly money but don't want ditch finders either

    cheers

I just got myself some Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. They are quite good in review and not too expensive, make it the perfect road tyres.

    Website for Tyre reviews:
    http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/

I found this website cheaper to buy tyres:
    http://lovetyres.com/tyre/Bridgeston...050A/205-55-16

    Hope this helps.

What size are you after? the new nankang ns2-r trackday tyres seem pretty good, i've only got them on the front atm but will be on the rear soon so hopefully they grip well. Not bad at £95 a corner for 225/45/17

I run toyo t1r's (225/40/18 stretched on a 9.5j) and don't have any major issues with rear grip tbh. I'll be swapping to the Goodyear f1's soon as they're meant to be a bit better again. Mine is running mid 380's currently.

    Bridgestone RE050A
    Goodyear F1 Asym's
    Contintental Conti Sports

All three of the above great for a road car. F1's will melt on track, but superb on wet roads.

i like them too at the front (running hard ones), replaced the RSRs with them and they're really better in the wet and also cheaper. When my rear RSRs go, i'll get NS2R although i'm very satisfied with rear end grip, but hey if it can be even better and cheaper, why not

Another vote for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrics here, great in the wet and dry. Also they wear evenly and last for a long while too

What's the grip like in 2nd? Trying to find a non track tyre that grips in 2nd, it's when the torque comes in (340ft lbs) 3rd is fine

Depending on size really. I rate RE002's bit you can't get them in wide 18's for example.

It seems fine tbh. I must admit I now have rltc fitted but even with that switched off I don't get many issues. The toyos are an out dated tyre now and are being discontinued iirc.

Yeah I noticed that on Camskill its a T1S NOW ?

Their is a few different tyres at a similar price so which one .

My rear alloys are 10 wide ET 20 , some people are stretching 225/40/18 , would I be better with a 235 ?

I don't have oveerfenders just arches rolled so I guess a 255 might catch

Aye, Im running Michelin Pilot Supersports on my Zed and they are phenomenal, better even than RE050A which I had before and really rated too, the 350Z club are nearly all the same. I dont personally think the F1's measure up but I know a lot disagree, they are damn fine tyres though.

With respect, Toyos, Falkens and even Evo's arent in the same league, albeit they dont cost anything like as much either. For outright grip on a road tyre Id go MPSS every time and probably will TBH

I run f1's on my m3 and am very happy good all round premium tyre. Grip is very good in all weather's .
They won last year's evo tyre test, not top in anything but consistently high in all tests.

The m3 guys also get massive boners about the pilot supersports that doc is talking about but they were a good few more quid per tyre when I was buying so depends on your budget.

I tell you the other thing they're not in the same league with and that's wear rate. Shocking really that I used to buy Falkens - never got more than ~15k out of a set, they were dead by then. The GY F1's on the rear have done 22k and the front Bridgestone Adrenaline's have done ~25k. Both sets have another couple of thou in them I reckon. Well impressed with that.
