    EPRacing Reviews

Thinking of changing the front bumper soon from the current vertex style one to something abit different.

Anyone heard any reviews of EPRacing kits, vaguely remember hearing something about them being bad but can't remember right.

Obviously all fibreglass stuff is going to need some adaption to fit flush, but would like to start with a semi decent bumper from the off.

Totally incorrect, buy a decent kit, Bomex, Do-luck, Vertex to name a few fit with next to no mods. Copy kits are just very poor quality and their popularity has led to this mis-guided belief that fibreglass panels always need work to fit.

Avoid Replikit/aerokit like the plague, I've got one of their kits and after cutting the front bumper into 3 pieces and re-bonding them in the correct position, cutting slices out of the rear bumper to get it into some sort of shape, I'm at the point of calling it a day and just buying genuine as I've put too much time into them and they still need a lot of work to get to a satisfactory standard.

    I've read EPRacing is better.

    Nice people. Naff bumpers.

Alex is right, good kits don't need working over.

if its anything like their Chinese knock off roof spoilers i would give it a miss, inch gap between the glass and the spoiler, full of chips and dents from poor mold work :/

Terrible fitting products , terrible to deal with and at JAE years ago they where terrible to have a drink with and a bit of a laugh with. Id avoid and go for a proper kit if you can afford to

I know the owners of EP racing personally, and as far as people go they would absolutely bend over backwards to help you.

I've never had any body kit parts from them but I know Leon is very anal about the fitment of his kits and is always seeking to improve them where he can. He had a carbon cooling panel moulded for an S14/a and trialled it on my car. He wasn't happy with the fit so he's had some more made up with tweaks so they fit straight on without modification or adjustment.

Give them a call, tell them what you're interested in and ask about the fitment. I'm happy to try something on my S14a if you'd like some pictures sending over. He will probably have it in stock

As body kit wise we are just like any company that most of the items are buy in or source around. It doesnt matter where you go each company will have items that has problem no matter is car parts or anything in general.

We purchase from many different manufactures like any company, sometimes they are good and sometimes they are crap. not to mention even us get stung by bad suppliers that we spend thousands on a container that is full of crap. There is nothing we or anyone can do anything about it.

Hence we are currently moving to a new suppliers at the moment in the sense of body kits as the old supplier keep giving us empty promises regards to having molds refreshed and quality and so on, as they dont want to spend anymore money on old products so it left us no choice.

Also not to mention there isnt many body kit manufactures anymore for japanese vehicles as most manufactures has now moved on to European vehicles and newer model cars, so finding new body kits for say S13 and S14 is hard as those cars is nearly or is over 20 years old and there aint that many of them left to meet the demand.

We have also started to manufacture some products in the UK recently with a company that specialist in Chatham body panels and produces high quality parts, But this is a long process as molds need to be made and they cost alot of money and a lot of time especially if you want to get it right first time and have a decent mold made with proper support so they dont go out of shape.

Unfortunately we cant make everything in the UK But will be on selected products that we know there is enough demand and we know the item fits right otherwise it it will just be waste of time and money.

A good example of an item we have here that didnt make it to have it mold at the moment is a set of genuine S15 Vertex Ridge kit (minus the rear Bumper) we bought it off driftworks after they sold their S15. Because we dont have a rear bumper for the kit, it didnt make it because those mold would cost us near 2k in the UK and because is not a complete kit we just didnt think there is enough demand for it, so we just left it at the side for the last 2 years.

But we are remaking most of the S body Front and rear Fenders here in the UK, so that we know they will fit right as we sell lots of them.

As to genuine Body kits, even genuine from time to time will have fitment problems, we have had Varis Bumpers for evo that dont fit that cost the customer £1500 in total including shipping and duty delivered to UK, also many people complain the cooling panels needs to fiddle around to fit this is because even the genuine item is like that as we have had a few garage defend cooling panels costing around £350 each and it fits like a pig.

Same goes to the S15 Dmax Roof Spoilers, we uses to sell the genuine items and same again they are never a great fit. hence when manufactures copy them they become worst. that is one of the reason we dont sell the FRP ones anymore. if is carbon you have a much bigger chance to fit it because carbon has for flex and softer because the carbon is vacuum carbon and not wet layered so it can still be bonded on into position with 3m tape and tiger seal due to its extra flexibility.

The S15 VX Front Bumper is one of the better ones as we have sold many and not had problems, but same as with any fibreglass items that abit of here and there is unavoidable no matter is genuine or replica, Of course Genuine will have less work because you are paying triple the price for one and will most likely have to wait months for it to arrive.

I had an ep vertex kit on mine and the front bumper and side skirts fitted perfect first time. I think I had to file a small amount off the return lip of the side skirts but it was about 10-20 minutes fettling. the rear bumper didn't fit so well as one of the sides bowed out. I got in touch with them and drove down and they swapped it for another.

if I wanted another s15 kit I would be knocking on the door.

Thanks guys really helpful stuff as i'm sure it will be for others, i've decided to sacrifice the wallet entirely and go genuine from Japan for something unique.
