Update....
Here's the shots after respray....
Then, Saturday morning it was time to do my FMIC. It took literally 10 hours. its an absolute nightmare to do..(It was...)
Fitted perfectly no bumper trimming and didnt have to remove to foglights to cater for the FMIC pipework which i was happy with.
I also chucked 2 of my friends 18" Grid Drifts on to see if i liked them. I can safely say i WILL be buying these as soon as i can!!!
That's all for now..
Also the Mrs's got involved in cleaning. Top gal!
"If Carlsberg did driveways...."
Got a horrendous blow i need to fix this week! As im going to Alton Towers next week. First long drive in the Nissan! Will be interesting to see what kind of MPG i'll get!
10 hours to fit an FMIC
It's looking really tidy tho, well done
Did you take the rear quarter panel window sills out for the respray?
White on white rules but then I'm biased as my white 13 rocks white rims.
Awesome transformation, looks brilliant!
So, after recovering from the cost of the respray. The little mods here and there continued. Currently im at the stage where im battling with myself as to if i bother upping the power of the SR20. As im seriously considering going RB25. Realistically, i can do it myself. I done a engine conversion on a Honda Civic, then turbo'd it so im sure i can do an SR>RB with a few friends! - We'll see!
The first thing to do was obtain new rubber. My rears were illegal, wire was almost out and i didn't feel safe in the dry, let alone wet!
I went for budgets, as im attending a DYWB day in september, and ill happily rip this up as my first set that get abused on the day.
Whilst the wheel was being put back on, the type fitter noticed my wheel bearing was dead. When the wheel was tight it was wobbling side to side a considerable amount. Scary, as the week before id driven 500+miles in it with my (now ex) mrs's. The exhaust must of covered up the noise coming from the bearing.
Whilst i was at that, i knew my rear calipers both sides had seized, luckily not on. So i still could drive with the front brakes! I bought a second hand set that were all free and funtioning, with some grooved rear discs for the price of £40 posted. Bargain!
So, i prettied them up!
Bought a HKS turbo timer. Wired in, but unfunctioning. I need to read the guide on installing a timer with NATS. (Although my NATS doesn't work!)
Then i bought a sandwhich plate, fitted it. But, it leaked like no tomorrow. So i took it off and will be sourcing something that wont leak... Any suggestions?
Fitted my oil pressure gauage to light the cabin up. Although im desperately trying to source a 3x 52mm gauge holder thats an OOEM replacement!
Finally, a few random pictures of the car!
Nice Work!
Looks Great.
Looking really good mate, good progress, keep it up and keep us posted!
Thanks guys.
I really need some XXR wheels, or some grids and space the wheels out. Then deck it, and i'll be content exterior wise. (Well definately need clear indicators, front and wing)
I hate my gastly wheels!
Do you live in Eastbourne?I was doing a coop refit on Monday/Tuesday night & saw a very clean white 14 pass by,all interior was lit up neon blue possibly from a stereo.
Shop was in Albert parade.
