Dont hard wire the pump. Just wire it so the ecu switches a 12v relay that powers the pump.

One of the relay by the ECU? I'll do that! Cheers!

if its the same as the sr20 then the fuel pump wire is a switched negative(test it with a meter first tho) then then just use that on a normal 30amp 4 pin 12v relay.

My gfs s15 was hard wired and it was very easy to flood.

Mines hardwired and never a problem. When you hardwire it you put a switched relay in using the existing trigger wire anyway.

If you want a steady / constant 12v + feed to the pump then hardwire it Jez told me to do mine.

Saw the vid on fb, seem happy with it mate!

    Glad it's sorted now!

As mentioned, hardwiring is a good idea. You should only do it with a relay built in.

    Here's a link:

Just so you know as well, walbro do different pump levels so when I got mine it had one fitted but it was a 190lph I think and a 255 is recommended really. Will say stamped on the pump.

Thanks for the above. Will do this in the weak.

Put 250 miles on the car since I got it back Friday.

Only thing I can note is the car will completely cut out everyone known again. It done it 4 times so far. It'll die under load when off boast. Example today 50ish slow traffic it lost power felt like it was hitting a wall.. Coughed and spluttered and continued for 40 miles no problem. Then doing 20 through a village same again and stalled.

I'm thinking fuel related.. Hence wanting to check my pump and hard wire it!

Other when she doesn't have a funny 5 minutes its an animal. Sounds awesome 6psi feels faster than my SR was. Heat wise a single fan with a non vented bonnet has been fine in traffic and at a standstill but I might throw my second on for more air.

Fingers crossed it stays running OK.

Drove to work this morning 2'c..

Made it all of 2 miles before it coughed and died again. Rolled into a bus stop, key out... key in.. let pump reprime and away she went first time..didn't do it again.

Nothing to describe to help.. i was doing 30 in 4th and it died.. Battery light is what i noticed first..

Any ideas where i can start on this one?

    ---

Need to re-wire my gauges in as i think i ripped the wiring out in a minor rage a few months ago! Also get my water temperature gauge installed as i want to know temps!

Sounds like it may be electical, have you relocated the battery?

I'd check all of the connections to the battery, and those earth straps you spent a while investigating also, make sure they're still in place.

I know i need one of those rings for the negitive terminal as my earth ringlet is bigger than the actual battery terminal.. Worth looking into cheers pal!
