Should really fit my fuel pump.
I'm so busy with work now I'm back from my holiday now 6 day weeks!
If anyones interested in buying this, please let me know.
I want a mortgage... so i'll be selling the Datsun to gather pace on my deposit.
Sad times! I would garage it away and find the funds elsewhere. By the time you come back to it it maybe a 10k car.

Cant believe you selling up after all the hard work
Your right. But, saving 5k+ isn't something that can be done all that easy.
Not definate yet. But i cannot see another way of saving enough. If i save for 6 months and sell the car i'll have banks queueing to give me money as a "first time buyer"! as i'll have over a 10% deposit fingers crossed.
Fair enough buddy. I appreciate it's not easy getting on the ladder.

I do not approve of this decision
I've been in a similar situation and just about to complete on a place, but not having the 200 vs waiting a bit longer to save up the money was the right decision for me, the car has gone up in value during this time too, I'd be kicking myself if I'd sold it back when i first thought of it for less that its now worth.
Im in a similar boat. Ive talked to my mrs about it and she said shed hate for me to sell something im so passionate about, so we could buy a house so weve chosen to save a bit longer (yes im aware my cars in shit state but i could still make a fair decent wad from it/spare parts)
So now im renting a small workshop with a friend where it will stay until we have our new house and i can start spending money on it again

Look on line there is a new government scheame wich qas set up a couple of months ago that gives first time buyers £3500 worth checking out m8 before you make any crazy moves see if you qualify for it bud
Little update,
A few weekends ago i swapped the fuel pump. To disasterious effects. It all started great. Refitted/turned on first time, drove to the seafront where i sat on the phone and let it idle. Within about 3-4 minutes the idle went lumpy, and i was just waiting for it to cut-out. - It did.
Turned back on, and thought fine. I'll drive it and see how it goes. Within 1-2miles it stalled 3-4 times and woudn't turn on easily. Before i swapped the pump if i took the keys out, let the pump re-prime it would be fine.. But that wasn't the case.. 1-2 minutes maybe more of sitting dead, cranking without fire... in the end i sat there hazards on a few minutes later.. she fired..
Only for it to happen another 3 times..
next step it STILL to hard-wire the fuel pump. I've forgotten what i need to do for that.. and then pull the pump out to re-check it's all "ok"...
Oh.. and when i was driving it after my holiday/christmas it didn't quite sound right front the drivers front.. hopped out and took a look to see this hanging out the calliper...

Thanks for all the mortgage suggestions. I shall reply today at some point.
Sorry about my abscence. I've just got my company car at work.. im out the office now 3-4 days a week so my activity has taken a nose dive in recent weeks!
As a previous owner of a few interesting toys, such as 2 RB powered S-bodies and a boat I used to live on... I suggest finding a way to mothball the car, and keep it.
It's a chunk of cash you could get if you sold, sure, but if you can ignore that and just store the car, it doesn't cost much just to park, if you stop paying MOT, Tax, and at a push insurance, and dont use it.
The thing is, if you let it go, you'll likely never get it back, and after all your effort on the car that'd be quite sad.
I REALLY regret selling my boat - I admit I dont miss the cars so much, the 200s at least, but I do regret selling others that I just cant stretch to now
That's the anti-vibration shim thing dude it should just clip back on! Might wanna check the 2 pins are still present that hold the pads in place!
As for the pump u should also check potential immobiliser issues.

Nats would normally shut the motor down in a few seconds after starting if letting it start at all.
can you hear the fuel pump? if so can you hear it stop?
I have read threads where a car won't rev past a certain rev band due to fuel shortage and that was resolved by resolving a nats issue. Let me see if I can find it
