    car raffle.

Hi all. Its been a while since I've been on here. I'm trying to sell my car on here and I'm thinking about a potential raffle.

I was looking through an old thread about raffling a car here: http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...ght=200+raffle

Did this ever work out? A lot of people were saying it wouldn't. I'm assuming because nothing came of that thread that it didn't work.

If there was a governing body (SXOC admin or someone else) to hold tickets/money could it be done?

If I were to sell my not so perfect example I'd be looking at somewhere around a minimum of 200 tickets sold @ £20 each no more no less to get a minimum price and to stop the odds getting saturated.

Another option would be to have just a minimum amount of tickets and any extra will be given to the winners chosen charity.

Let me know your thoughts guys. If 200 people reply to this with an in and the sxoc admins agree then I'll do it.

In any case if the minimum was not reached in a reasonable time all tickets would be refunded.

    Thanks,
    Rich.

Last one I heard about fell flat on it's face, didn't get 100 people involved in the end.

I would be interested, pending details...

EDIT: Driftland have already run a raffle which went pretty well, and they are currently running one for an R33 Skyline.

I saw that thread too which is why I don't want to hold any money until the winner is drawn and the car is in their possession.

    Cheers,
    Rich.

You could speak to your local track and see if they would be interested in getting involved to run the raffle. Could be a good way to get more interest / involvement at an event. Worst they can do is say no.

The last I remember Ken was in charge around here.

How would I get this kind of thing to the board? None of this can happen unless a trusted body from SXOC admin can hold the money/declare the winner fairly.

    Docwra is "da boss" now.

I would say that, as a non-member, your chances of them agreeing are somewhere between "no feckin chance" and "absolutely no feckin' chance"

The above would be true if you were a member or not tbh. Its a minefield and one the we as a club need to steer clear of I'm afraid.

If it all go's tits-up you'll be seriously out of pocket, you'll have advertising and shit to pay, then I assume there will be a transaction fee placed on every money transfer (especially if you use paypal)
