    standard rods

    Could anyone tell me what power the standard rods are good for on a ca?

    Also were would you suggest buying forged rods?

    Standard internals are good for 350. Some have run to 400 on standard internals.

    Haven't heard of anyone just upgrading the rods. Most do a full internal upgrade including pistons if they are aiming for big numbers.

    and the gearbox, clutch, cams, etc etc etc.

    Not many people go for big power engines as it's horrible to drive on the road, drag racing stuff only.

    Circa 300BHP running a T28R turbo is a lovely road car

    Years ago some people just changed the rods and kept standard pistons achieving excellent results. So yes it works. I guess it is possible to melt or burn pistons but the main issue is the big end. So it would depend on your budget and what you want to do.
