Really struggling to get a bodyshop quote for painting/fitting my rear fenders. Asked 3 companies but no reply yet. PITA

If the car was road legal Id just park in front of a shop until the guy agreed to work on it, but not legal yet.

Nice work on the carbon panel dude. What did you use and how did you use it? DA polisher and G5?

I borrowed some polish called "Sonus" from a buddy. That's all I know. It did the trick tho

Tin foil, Gaffa tape and rust?? Yup... SX ownership

OK chaps - went to see Daniel at SRB Power today. Very nice chap indeed. Bought these fenders. lovely fit, better than the previous Aerokit ones. I still don't like the 50mm muscle arch look that these give, but bearing in mind my restrictions I think these are the only option.

Oky doek - so got some quote back from bodyshops to fit the new rear fenders and paint black - £800 to £1000. I'm sure that's a fair price, but at the moment it's never going to happens, so proceeding ahead on my own again.

OK metal rear quarters painted for a 3rd time and 2nd attempt at fitting fenders. Leant from my mistakes this time. They fit nicely this time. Just to to find a way to clean the edges up now as glue has gone everywhere.

Overall I am happy, the car looks pretty aggressive now

Cheers dude - yeh I think so also now.

OK cleaned up and sprayed a test section of the edge. It was a real PITA, I can see why people are charging £1000 for this job now. The finish is hardly pro but I think it's good enough for what I want:

50mm fenders primed and edges cleaned up.

The edges are pretty rubbish, but they'll do for now. At some point in the future I'll use some proper filler on them to neaten them up a little.

Welded up a goofy new latch for the fuel filler flap so it works with the 50mm fenders:

The rear brake pad guide clips have been rattling/squeaking so re-fitted today with plenty of grease so hopefully that's that sorted. Also took opportunity to paint rear calipers.

The sun came out in Cambs today so took the opportunity to bosh some quick paint on the rear fenders. Also fitted the new fuel filler flap and fits perfectly which is a nice surprise

Painted front calipers. Just realised that they are diddy little 280mm rotors, that's pretty pathetic for a fairly fast car. May have to look at upgrading in the future.

i like where this is going dude, but you really need to cut the lacquer and make it shiny

and you glued your overfenders? no rivets? I like it like that, its different...as i also like the "riveted" look..

    keep up the great work

Cheers Yann. Yeh glued, not rivets. The reason is that the rivets on the previous fenders started to rust the car, so just glue this time.

Yeh the lacquer is pretty cheap crap stuff that I used so giving it a couple of weeks to harden before cutting.

Dang - snapped the oil pressure switch wire while changing oil filters. Managed to fix it but was a pig to get to.
