How to get max lows with BC Racing coilovers?

    Evening chaps,

Does anyone know the setup for the maximum lows on the BR series of coilovers from BC Racing? Because the strut winds in to the bottom brackets by adjusting the preload i imagine one way offers more lows (I.e. spring as far to the top as possible and wound right in or vice versa). Anyone shed any light? Just want to know for show season really, I know my setup for street and drift so just need the final piece of the puzzle!

I wouldn't mess around with the preload too much tbh as the car will drive terribly if you wind on two much.

If they are like other units I've seen you wind the base and lock nut right up to the preload adjusters.

Yeah that's how i have it now, the preload is set about half way and the same for the base, was thinking a shorter preload might mean more travel for the base? I'd happily take them off and experiment but they're pretty stiff now and it's hard arse work if someone has done it before!

Plus, i'm not bothered about a rubbish drive when it's just parked up at a show. Just to get it sat right on a stance stand and then raise it back to attack mode when the show's over haha

If you are wanting max lows at the compromise of ride quality then raise the preload slighty as it will make it have less travel so wont hit anything as will be harder. Then wind the ride height to where you want it

This isn't really advised for road driving though as will compromise the effectiveness of the coilovers so no hooning in slammed mode haha

Haha nah it's literally going to be done the night before a show mid summer that are all running on air so want to show them what static can do. I have a setup for road use that I'm happy with

Surely static applies to a constantly low car? Lol lower it and make it work

No static means static suspension as apposed to air or hydro. But I agree trust me it's low already haha just want it about 20mm lower so it sits on the lips for shows but not ideal when you want to drive it properly

It's one of 3 front bumpers I have and it's going nowhere but I'm currently prepping my Works9 kit for paint. Not got a lot of photos but you can look at my build thread. It's now got 35mm spacers at the front and 25mm at the back, more camber at the front but this is as low as the BCs will go at current setting.

Fair enough, and yeah just had a look! Defo need to go lower! especially if your running 18s and want to be classed as 'low' you should be able to get the car a few mm of the ground without too much work!

    Did/do you you own a Vw polo/golf/bora?

if not your should you'd fit right in ;D

Also would you not be better to stick the stock suspension on a just cut the springs if you want it to sit on the ground.
