so, got this lovely scottish man to do the intake gaskets that ruby badly needed... the first one from plenum to mani had been replaced by jonny i do believe, but the one from mani to engine block was totally gone and looked more like a burnt, broken toast than anything else. i was delighted that that was confirmed to be the cause of the bad running and lumpy idle and golly it was. this is a totally different car now, with a small chunk more power (and torque as it should have now of course, which, with an air leak suffers greatly!) she idles BEAUTIFULLY now, smooth as a nut and perfectly sitting at 1200 rpm cold and 900 rpm warm. im delighted with the running gear in ruby. the gearbox oil was also changed and it took out a lot of the notchyness that it had developed in the last few weeks. the oil that came out was mank and there were some filings too, so glad that was done and for me, it confirmed to follow my instincts when it comes to "what this car needs" lol...

and she got an MDT tuning sticker as Stiv is the prime man for doing all my work on her ha

next up is some rust repairs as i dont want to fall behind on that regime...
repair an oil leak at the turbo (probably top line...) its dripping oil...
also waiting on front indicators to arrive (thanks to fellow sxoc member mospin!) as my ones are both corroded and dont work.
going JDM orange sidelight look ha. see how that looks.... im holding my breath ha.
and oil change coming up at the weekend too some 5w30 and she'll run even sweeter!

more updates when indi's are in ha.

Wish I'd kept going now when had it all apart. I had a deadline and no replacement gasket to hand so just hoped it was the top one and bunged it back together

Lesson learned if there is a next time.

so, small (small-ish) update on this.

first, for a small pic and a happy note ha. wrapped the centre dash a few days ago.
adds a bit of "funk" to it ha. im not shy that way and usually love "in your face" decor in sbodies ha.

other works recently included the stripping of all the interior for welding prep work.
booked in for next week and the prognosis wasnt great so im sorry to say it; this DAL guy is a total COWBOY.
ALL the panels that he has welded in (or glued over the rust!!!) have fallen out....
so back to square 1 with all shell work.

assuming welding works out ok, she'll be looking like this, as soon as funds allow and NCT is passed ha
satin/matt purple with gloss black roof
gloss black jun style bolt on arches
    gloss black rocket bunny spoiler
    tinted lights (all)
    banded white steelies
    coilovers of some form

    quick, bad photoshop ha

Cant wait to see her (and you I suppose) again. You on for C&C next month, or have you abandoned us for Airside?

Ah no I'll be supporting ye again at that alright ha. Hoping to have the car sorted soon anyways, won't be pretty during the painting process but end result will matter ha. Nct is making me nervous now but sure has to be attacked too I suppose ha. The airside meets are my staple anyways and I don't miss them ha. The c&c I go to really only for sxoc sakes now, as the meet as such isn't great... So the 25e for me doesnt pay off really but obviously if sxoc needs representing and ye heads are there I'm happy to go

Now, I'll be needing a new name for her, as she won't exactly be red anymore ha. Suggestions? Not Barney please ha. And it's a girl
