Looks tasty man, will the cam cover be staying like that or have you got more plans for it?

Staying like that, don't want to take off too much, as I want it to still fit good without risking the CAS positioning

    I like it

So I'm getting to the point where I have hardly anything left to do to the car now until I get the interior back next week, so today I finally sussed and fixed my left hand pop up issue! And now they both work again

Swapped the diode packs out from behind the head unit to some from another car, and it cured it, hasn't melted the circuit board strip in the motor all day when usually it did it within minutes

Took the car for a cheeky drive round the yard at work today, clutch control is a bit iffy when you're sitting on a plastic box

Lifters are really noisy but I'm putting it down to them being new and the car currently running on mineral oil for the run in

Were the lifters in a bath of oil before putting them in?

I had it overhauled at a professional engine builders for piece of mind so I'd like to think so! Considering he recommended I put new lifters in after looking at the old ones

Sure they'll quieten down once some fully synth goes in

They do seem loud although I've never put new lifters in a CA. I've personally not had tapping after putting used lifters in mine even at first start. Don't worry about the mineral oil, as long as it's the correct mineral oil it won't bother the lifters.

At the moment it's got shit cheap mineral oil just as a quick swish round, it's only been run for a few minutes on it, dropping that and putting millers 10/40 running in oil next week and once I've put 500 miles or so on it I'll swap to millers 10/40 fully synth

It was a very quiet engine before, but she did have 100,000 miles on her, absolutely everything internally now is brand new

Oil situation sounds good. I'm struggling to believe it needed new lifters if it was quiet before, unless they couldn't be separated. Sometimes that happens. PS nice blue gauges those.

Possibly, either that or he decided everything else was new so why not put some lifters in too

They're prosport evo premiums (you can change the colour white, blue, red, green) only thing that's a bit annoying about them is the temp ones are in Fahrenheit
