Whats my car worth?

Hello people,

Ill cut a long story short and say that I've been offered something else that will get me on road faster and I don't know If I can be bothered to finish this Project that I have recently taken on.

almost full service history, im 3rd owner, its been a company car most its life.

Its in fantastic condition, arches etc are the best ive seen.

Bad Points

In front of the rear wheels in the arch on both sides is a hole about 2cm in diameter so the car needs welding. the sills and underneath are immaculate.

Engine is knocking, it sounds more top end rather than bottom, it started to knock when reversing into my drive ( under no load what so ever). I was well and truly gutted when this happened and the car has remained off and on my driveway since.

The car is open to a full inspection/check over.


My plan was to change the engine and then fix the original over christmas, mot it and tax it.

Whats it worth to sell it as it is?

I appreciate pictures really are needed for reference so heres two I took when I just got it and gave it a clean. it really is very OEM through out with all trim/carpet engine stock.

I will add more pics when its light and ive taken some.

any input/opinions or even offers are welcome.

Many tuning goodies including another engine with decent compression and Toda cams etc are also potentially available.





The car is ready for an mot otherwise, with decent tyres all round with plenty of life, all lights/electrics still working too.

Whip the cam covers off and see if you can figure out whats making the noise, check the cam lobe oil squirter's are not blocked.
Could it just be abit of VVT rattle?

Ive had the camcover off and checked it out, top end looks intact. There was no previous noises before, vvt was silent.

early bottom end noises usually sound like top end noise.

if its knock not rattle i'd 90% think bottom end. As for value i'm unsure. Would make good project for someone!

I will take some more pics and send them across, I am really in two minds about selling the car for the prices that have been offered so far.
